UKFSN users in plz

Yea, seems to be getting a tad better.

I noticed I can rip stuff down at 600+ easily most of the time now. Except for Ubuntu, which apparently only wanted to download at 300kb/s. I also downloaded a 170mb file from a popular torrent the other day, I went to get a drink and it was done when I got back!

I also noticed theres yet another central on the NOC list!

Another thing which I found funny, they wouldn't reset my SNR unless there was a fault on the line... I sent them a somewhat snotty reply but haven't have one back yet. :(

I think that is due to BT not letting them do so. If your not losing connection you do not need it increasing. If you are losing sync raise a fault and then request it to be increased.

I just noticed that. Was about to post. :D

Yikes! That's a serious amount of Central bandwidth but also a serious amount of cash. You do have to wonder where the funding is coming from - is Enta burning a huge amount of venture capital or is their subscriber base actually big enough to support this level of investment?

Does anyone know if Enta supply ADSL / bandwidth direct or is it all through the resellers?

They supply some stuff like leased lines, SDSL, bonded connections, private WAN and some other stuff iirc, although their website is a bit of a dog to navigate. I did find they sponsored Wolverhampton (or similar sounding club :p) in the past.

Trifid, I asked them to up it by 3 when I kept getting errors, but I actually saw no increase, just a lower sync, it seems in this case most of the errors were fixed by turning interleaving on. :(

Is it my eyes or have they stuck a 7th central on there. :p

Chokes on tea...

Reminder to self, 2 and 4 are global...

(They are not ordering any more globals due to the poor performance of installing them over there...)

Anybody having trouble uploading, ive had no upload since yesterday, yet my download speeds are perfectly fine.

Nope no issues here.

I'd tell you which pipe I'm on, but that doesn't seem possible atm.

Hi im about to migrate from tiscali :o to ukfsn.
Could any one tell me if my sagem f@st 800-840 modem will be ok for max home service. I may also be geting a Netgear DG834 router soon and sharing the conection between two computers. On the migration page on uksfn do i say i want 1 static ip or 8?
Sorry for the being such a noob and thanx for any help.

A quick google it appears it is compatible. I only really wanted to say is, if you had to ask whether you need 8ip's than you do not need them. Also it is less secure as you have a direct connection to the internet and not hidden on a separate network.

my 2p worth is get the 8 ip.if in future you want to use them it is easier to already have them than to get them later.
actually i have 8 but have been unable to use them like i did with my 4 on Eclipse :o
anyone got an idiots guide to use them(i.e. i can only connect to UKFSN when i enable `Dynamically Assign`if i enter any of my 8 allocated ips it refuses to connect) :)

I have just orderd the home max 30 package and on the cofmation e-mail it says there is a £45 migration charge  i though it was free to migrate if you had a mac code?

It depends who you're migrating from - from IPStream it's free, from LLU it costs the same as a new activation fee.
