UKFSN users in plz

With the rate enta are signing up new accounts, I cant see this 'soft throttling' going away anytime soon.

What time do migrations normally happen, they gave me the 18th which is today in the past it tends to happen over night.

Ok i been switched over but my speeds seem appalling, 2 meg atm although sync at nearly 6000 will i still go through the 10 day period thing, or shouldn't my profile already be set with coming from another max service.

Hi guys, i'm strongly thinking about switching to UKFSN soon

Would this ISP be alright for gaming? if i'm gaming online and it hits 10pm when everyone starts downloading will i get serious ping problems and lag untill 8am in the morning?

If anyone could answer that, or give me a bit of information about online gaming with UKFSN i'd be much appriciated :)

Thanks

Enta's measures ensure that pings stay low at 10PM. The load is only high from 10 to about 1am verging on 2. After that the centrals have very little load.

Be perfectly fine for gaming, as as said above the measure they are doing is for that very reason, and to stop packet loss. :)

Erm what's the 'Legacy ADSL' option on their sign-up page mean?

I'm on AOL's 2mb atm but my line can apparently take <8mb.

Thanks for the replay guys! :D

Sorry to sound like a bell, but is Enta just another name for UKFSN ? Are they the same company?

UKFSN are a re seller of enta.net

As stated above, UKFSN resell entanet's service. There are several others like Aquiss, ADSL24, Freeola etc.

I've got a migration underway to UKFSN from plusnet. Looking good despite the traffic shaping, even should make gaming better though.

Have they changed the wording on their site recently?

used to say more than just 'no port blocking'.

Yes they have, used to say no throttling etc... but since Enta have started with this throttling their doing to stop packet loss and help with latency for about an hr or so at 10pm they can't say that now. :)

Speeds have been pretty poor here, even on the later side of the peak time...

Just been testing the speeds and been getting a varied 1-2.5mb connection this is before 10pm, going to do abit of testing after 10..
