UKIP move up to third in polls....

I also think conservatives are going to demolish Labour in the next election... Miliband is weak in opposition, and Cameron is doing better than I expected. Personally I thought this political term would be a poisoned chalice, in that whoever took over would have to make so many cuts that they'd be hugely unpopular. Cameron and co. seem to have done ok though. Admittedly it's not been faultless, but it easily could have been worse.

The Tories are dreadfully unpopular though - I personally agree that cuts needed to be made but IMO they're cutting too much too fast, causing high inflation as well.

The attitude to it really demonstrates how out of touch they are with their people as well - if they had to pay almost £1.50 a litre for fuel rather than being able to put it on expenses, i'd guarantee you that it'd be a lot cheaper.

They're just like the other parties - in it for themselves and themselves only. I think one of the main reasons we stay in the EU is so that our politicians can move onto a cushty job when they're done ruining the UK (Tony Blair anyone?).

Also if we get another five years of Michael "I have no idea what the hell i'm doing" Gove ruining eduacation, I seriously fear for this country in the long run. :(

Immigration to Australia and Canada is based on a points based system.

If you dont score highly enough, you dont get in, simple.

Surely the UK's immigration policy should be designed to let skilled and dedicated, hard working individuals in and deny entry to those who are just here to milk the system and break the law?

Well yes, but liblabcon wont do that ever.

Our immigration policy already is to just let in the people we want.

The problem is that we can't stop EU migration, and people are getting in by other channels - student visas for fake courses and family/children/marriage.

Hence why I hate British politics.

I strongly believe that being able to stop this **** would be one of the main advantages of leaving the EU.

They don't seem quite as unpopular as I was expecting, put it that way xD although yeah I do worry about Mr. Gove....

As for immigration, that's pretty much what the australian and canadian systems are like. If you have skills which can fill jobs that they need people for then you get allowed in. If not you don't.

Our immigration policy is the virtually the same...however we also have the added handicap of EU freedom of Movement legislation and the issue that many in the former Empire Countries have British Passports or access to family who have a right to reside.

Hence why I hate British politics.

It would be an advantage of leaving the EU, yes.

However it doesn't change the fact that there are masses of ****less youths in this country who are literally unemployable.

Companies are employing someone who is new to the UK who speaks broken English rather than someone British. That only makes sense if the British person is lazy, illiterate and useless.

We do need to put a lot of people in jail over the student visas thing. There are people creating fake courses, and charging admission on the broad understanding that you apply for one so you can get a visa, you come to the UK and you never go near the course. The people operating those schemes need to be in jail.

Well I'm pretty sure that the top requirement to migrate to the UK should be to already be fluent in English.

If you are illiterate at English, you shouldnt be allowed in no matter what. Simples.

My English is 99% perfect.

Quite frankly, having read your posts, I'd take a random legal immigrant over you any day of the week.

Can we set up a programme where economic migrants from poor countries can come to the UK to try and better their position, and do it by replacing a small minded reactionary?

And you would be sued for unfair recruitment selection as a result.

I know plenty of people who are here that dont want to better their position nor do they want to learn or communicate with a single word of English.

Most experts seem to think Gove is doing incredibly well and is a top performer in the cabinet.

That's not how it works. You have to say why it is :p

(Which you'll be utterly unable to.)

No, that's exactly how it works. I asked a question, if you want to answer it then you're welcome to :p

Because there are many reasons to want to do both which don't involve "OMG SEND EM BACK"?

Since we're answering questions with more questions, are there any which don't involve discrimination based on race?

Sadly those are the ones not coming through the immigration channels. They're coming through family/spouse/student routes. However things have been tightened up, especially as far as speaking English is concerned.

How we turn the clock back on Labour's mass uncontrolled immigration though... I have no idea.
