We'd have told the Kremlin he would be there so doubt there's any reason we'd bother with anything clandestine. The threat of essentially declaring war on NATO isn't really worth the mild irritation of letting the meeting take place, plus he's likely worth more in a place where he can do damage by merely being himself than can ever be gained by removing him from play.
Regardless of his innate misbehaviour and lack of gravitas I can thankfully look upon efforts surrounding Ukraine as being generally positive at least.
If only he wasn't so awkward. That is quite a strong show of solidarity.
