Russia definitely seems to have had their jimmies rustled by Finland wanting to join NATO, calling it a threat to Northern European stability and threatening retaliation. However unless I'm missing something, it's only a threat to Russia if they choose to attack Finland, so the only threat I can see to European security here is Russia's plans for expansion.
Correctomundo.

This is pretty interesting for showing the current deployment and distribution of Russian forces:

(Some of the areas in the east may be missing data due to lack of coverage)

Mobile base tower triangulation would be pretty accurate. Accurate enough for targeting the area with a drone for recon. I used to work in mobile operator networks - mainly in the signalling network. Having soldiers with mobile phones in the field is a significant security risk. So the danger works both ways - Russian military hackers could work out locations of mobile phones if they have snooping of the mobile network signalling - at least down to which cell.. at maximum far better signal strength.

Additionally in "Russia speak", the threat of a "Military-Technical" response against Finland seems to translate to "We're going to flatten all of your cities, and rape, pillage and murder your citizens". I guess we should be thankful that they are still calling it a threat to Russia and not an "existential" threat (Which I think translates to a direct threat to Putin's power).

One has to wonder if you can mount Brimstones to it... like the Tesco delivery vans.

EDIT: Bunch of Typhoons out at the moment - this one really going at it - 30,000+ft/m altitude changes.

Find it very odd that you can track front line fighter planes

They regularly turn their transponders off when they want to - and when they are using idents like JEDI0021 they are either on transit, training or run of the mill intel gathering missions.

EDIT: Though that reach flight out of Prestwick probably has some interesting cargo...

What is gained by seeing someone shot dead, rather than a video that shows everything leading to it?

People are quite clearly trawling twitter and so on for atrocity videos- and they can continue to do that.
Reality and how hardcore life really is. I think the full detail should be shown wherever it is available

Transponders are on to help with civilian air traffic, in a war situation they would be off and there would be zero civies up.

It's why we do interceptions in the North sea/Ireland so our planes transponders record where the ruskie planes are as we fly in formation with them, because the ruskies turn theirs off and become a problem to civilian aircraft flying around.

With that concentration of manpower I can't even begin to imagine the pounding Izyum an the surrounding areas is going to be taking from Ukrainian artillery (assuming they don't pull units out to reinforce their northern flank east of Kharkiv).

Wait, they tried to cross the river a second time and failed again? Embarrassing.

Sounds like our Brimstone missiles are starting to have an effect too.

Interesting US Stratotanker QID51 taken the long way around over Finland - not something I've seen normally.

Polish air force convoy heading that way from the south direction as well.

EDIT: Also a reach flight taking that route around - wonder if they are practising in case they need to supply Finland under less ideal circumstances.
