Surely Ukraine wouldn't strike anywhere within Belarus.
Technically speaking the US government made them agree to not hit targets inside Russia with the long range weapons they provided, Belarus isn't in Russia (yet) :D

Kinda reminds me of the time the US government made Dodge agree to stop putting V8 engines in cars in order to receive a bailout, so they put a V10 in the Viper instead ^^

Curious as to whether they're going to press gang anyone that arrives into the military or if it's a softer 'maybe a proportion will join willingly' sort of deal.

Hopefully the questionable nature of the conflict (Russia stronk looks a bit awkward when they can't even steamroll their supposedly inferior brethren) and the scarcity of imports as well as the terminally damaged service economy in both establishment cities will mean that people opt to be suspicious even of attempting to bribe officials.

Rumours that couple days ago photos on telegram claiming to show a Wagner command centre was posted, Ulranians geolocated it and blew it up

It's not just rumours there were pictures of it on twitter earlier + videos of the bodies being collected.

Also, amusingly, the geolocation wasn't too difficult as one of the photos released had a sign containing the address in the picture!

People receiving letters in St Petersburg asking them to visit a recruitment office to verify their details.

It doesn't seem to be a mass mobilisation letter, but asking for military age males to update their details so recruiters have it and no doubt while they are there they'll try to recruit some anyway

Kind of sinister none the less as this kind of thing will be done as a "stock taking" exercise with an eye towards a likely larger escalation in the future where they might employ mandatory conscription as well as using it as a soft way to try and get a few more bodies through the door in the short term.

Would correspondents with this thread PLEASE use <SPOILER> tags for the twitter content.

it sure would speed up load times on my Sammy tablet. You could add a line of description to entice the viewer to open the tags. Don't be lazy remember 007.
Depending on what browser you're using, you can install the "uBlock Origin" add-on which allows you to block 3rd party frames, specific addresses (such as twitter) and so on, which may help :)

Web pages in this thread load almost instantly on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Have you considered getting faster internet and a faster tablet?

On my phone and lower spec tablet the thread just loads with placeholder space for the media content which streams in 30-60 seconds later - doesn't cause any slowdown for the main post content/lag/freezing.

Thanks.

Same as you Rroff.

It used to be netiquette and spoilers are for a reason but I won't labour the point and derail the thread. Thanks.
