What if it wasn't UKR at all. after all they would need to drive a truck with tons of explosives on board for 1000's of Km through Russia. What if it was an internal Russian faction, esp as there were all sorts of high explosive cigarette fires deep inside Russia(e.g all the fires inside Russia.. that Oligraghs daughter in a car bomb) the TU22's that got got last night deep inside Russa ) . So.. said faction could either be anti-putin or pro war, wanting to use this as an excuse to escalate even more(or both). esp as Russia was very quick to name the truck driver.. How would they know if the truck was...well nothing
The areas in this region are unbelievably huge, the country is so big that special forces could easily sneak past.

Thats not taking into account that there will be a lot of special forces already in the area that do these jobs.

I believe there are special forces also inside Russia sabotaging and burning all these buildings, car bombings etc. People are falling out a lot of windows, it could be Putin or it could be special forces picking of vulnerable targets that don't get the same levels of protection Putin does.

Someone's doing this, it's not Russia as that bridge is a necessity for them.

Special Operations tend to be the ones doing all the spooky **** and direct action behind enemy lines, not Special Forces. And Ukraine's SOFs seem to be very active, they were taking photographs of themselves not long back standing in Russia. :D

That burned out train on the bridge, could that be Russian supply of fuel?

It makes sense for Ukraine to destroy the fuel and the bridge, two for the price of one, pretty genius if you ask me

3 civilians caught in a strike on a legitimate military target against the deliberate targeting, rape, forced deportation, and torture of tens, probably hundreds, of thousands of Ukrainian citizens?

Yeah, get some perspective.
It's a civilian bridge, which is a strategic target. It's not a military target

Which isn't to say it's not legit.

Even if they're being shelled? IAEA suggest otherwise, not sure if you was being sarcastic.
I am not being at all sarcastic, if a coal mine or water dam is shelled or bombed the effects are transitory and geographically extremely limited, which is as far from the case with a nuclear power station being attacked and put into meltdown as you can realistically get, energy supply wise.

The answer, (and it's the same for nearly all of mankind's long term woes), is a drastic but kindly global population reduction, not an exponential increase in it with its associated food, energy and housing needs.

It is a military target if they're bringing in military supplies, which they are.
edit: were...
I mostly feel it's ******* weird to be whooping and hollering with glee whilst watching civilians die.

It's progress for Ukraine, it was probably necessary to do, but the joy in it sits uneasily.

I was really busy with work yesterday, so only got to sacn the forum briefly early in the morning, and again in the evening, where's that Russian film link, the one with the Russian family emigrating to the US on an aeroplane? I can't find it and I have a couple of friends who'd like to see it as well. I assume it was in this thread somewhere, but it's now huge and growing by the minute. Thanks.

I'm not joyful, and it's horrible if civilians were killed, but unfortunately it always happens in war. That bridge has been a pretty obvious target for some time.

Some of the online video comments suggest explosion started beneath bridge with some water movement prior to deck level flash ...

I didn't get the operators in the cctv office , even if they were replaying the cctv, they were not using some Russian expletives.

I don't think anybody really knows to any degree of certainy how close we are to all out war - even at the highest echelons of power. That's whats worrying and it would be foolish to dismiss the possibilty.
Personally I don't think so.

Putin has nothing left to go all out war with. he has lost so much including all his best troops and armour that even if he did try and go to all out war it would be a disaster,

He would be pulling out 50 year old armour and tanks that probably would never even start let alone be effective.

If he had this ability he would have used it by now. Look at the absolute shambles he had trying to conscript 300k.

That leave nukes, are they on the table? I believe not, this would pull China into it, Xi will almost certainly have warned him off using nukes as its also on their border.

This war will rumble on because Putin will always believe he can turn it around, like a bad gambler always trying to recover their losses.

He doesn't care about the loss of his men, he's all in and it's getting played out until the end.

Maybe one of these:

Special operations? Who are they if they are not special forces (probably SAS trained), they're not sending normal troops to do these jobs

That can easily be explained by there being a downward firing EFP in the back of the truck.

If / when Russia gets pushed out of Ukraine I can imagine a sort of NK/SK situation playing out with them both taking occasional pot shots at each other over the border for many years to come.
Obviously if Ukraine can get into nato asap then that situation would change, and it's more likely Putin will spend the rest of his miserable life fire fighting in Russia trying to control the country.
