Is this the first time "over the boarder" targets have been hit?

Nope - Belgorod has been sporadically targetted and they've done 1-2 strikes against military airfields in Russia but very rare. So far it has been isolated events and probably not sanctioned in some cases.

That Crimea bridge must be about due another polishing off

And it looks like Russia is trying to conduct a winter freeze seige as someone suggested earlier - by knocking out energy infrastructure in a rash

I bet its another fixing the bridge program its under way and we will see this soon :D

I thought Putin said, that if mainland Russia was targeted then he would go nuke? Or just more BS

There will be a sliding scale response wise - depending on the frequency, size and target/casualties. Anything less than large scale bombardment with Western weapons or the taking of Russian territory is very unlikely for a nuclear response to even be a consideration.

After read about more than 90,000 russian troops died. I wondered how many russian POWs are there in Ukraine until I found the link revealed 3,000 russian troops surrendered last week. The surrender hotline claimed 100 russian troops called the hotline everyday to surrender, that about 700 russian troops surrendered a week, 3000 a month.

Would not like to be the Russians on the receiving end of this. Stuff of absolute nightmares, the ZSU-23/4 used against ground troops. I imagine it's akin to being thrown into a wood chipper.

There is a couple of videos from Syria somewhere from someone close to the receiving area where a couple of them are used to hose down the upper floors of buildings - pretty insane.

EDIT: Can only find this one from a quick search https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbHIQF9do-w there is a longer one somewhere with several second long bursts hitting the buildings.

I think constant escalation is Putin's game plan. Could just be a feint to tie up Ukrainian forces along the border to reduce the risk of counteroffensive.
Feinting a counteroffensive requires secrecy and belief by the enemy if the current situation to deliver surprise.

Russia has troops, so simply put troops enmass across each border, no surprise and just using the mass to break through.
The issue is - has the russian planner assumed trained morivated troops and ignored the morale and inexperience of the troops in reality.

He's a complete tool.

Billions upon billions, but now they don't fit with his view he's cutting them off.
Could and may seem to be words redacted in this statement of yours ;)

There comes a time when the eye watering costs of servicing Ukraine's ever escalating demands needs careful consideration.
