When they annexed the 4 regions, due to the fact they didn’t control all of the regions, they stated that the borders of these regions were ‘fluid’ subject to change. I reckon they are going to hold strong in Kherson on the east side of river and make the new border there with the clear river demarcation and then artillery and bomb (conventional) the **** out of the land to the West Bank stopping Ukraine from being able to cross.

They are probs focusing on the imported russians and collaborators and also abducting whoever whether willing or not.

After that and they are on the other bank they will turn the place into another Mariupol.

Russians break things if they can't have them. It's what they do.

That’s what I saw on a video aswell. They have a lot of untapped resources there and Russia is doing a landgrab for it. I guess if we win will do it aswell but with our companies getting contracts

It seems to me they are just moving the goal posts after Ukraine called their bluff.

"Annexation" was supposed to scare Ukraine into not counter-attcking those areas. When that didn't work, Russia moved the goal posts.

Is there much military equipment in Belarus that Russia could use? Don't suppose it'll make too much of a difference considering how things are going and the technology they have available.

They have a slab of all the former Soviet era stuff - T-72 tanks, older artillery, etc. they seem to store it better than in Russia i.e. tanks are stored in garages more, etc. but overall I dunno what the state is - they only have relatively small quantities actively in use.

See for yourself, unsurprisingly mostly ex-Soviet equipment very few modern systems from what I can see. More a defense force then anything else, if they tried to attack Ukraine I doubt they would get very far and would quickly end up playing the role of Italy to Russia's Germany.

Would be interesting how many of their T-72s, even though mostly older models, are serviceable, 800+ would still add significantly to the war effort - looks like Belarus only maintain about 100, of which only one battalion runs modernised variants, in active use.

EDIT: Supposedly over 400 are maintained in a "turnkey" state.

This is about resources, this is about reducing western access to resources, this is about bring the west to submission, this is a long-term goal to overtake the west by restricting our capability to fight in the future.

Once evacuated will they ever be allowed back is teh question russia has already forcibly removed ukrainians to russia wouldn't be surprised if the territory is resettled by russians just to complete the takeover its what stalin et al did in the soviet days resettle entire populations scatter in remote areas and erase their identity.
