The Institute for the Study of War is claiming Russia is burnt out in Bakhmut to point where they can no longer carry out offensicve operations

Looking at DeepStateMap over the last few days the frontline hasn't moved since Ukraine counter attacked around Christmas. It looks like Prigozhin's delusions of becoming Russia's minster for defense will have be put on hold for the time being. At the same time tensions are running high between the Wagner mercenaries and the regular Russian army with Prigozhin calling out General Gerasimov for not supporting Wagner with the required weapons and munitions to sustain operations.

Its a shame only a matter of time before the screw tightens on Putin.

You don’t hear as much from Avdiivka as from Bakhmut but Russians run against Ukrainian positions like Lemmings since months there and it always ends in fiascos, just like this one here

Video @Tendar Twitter

Jeez that some height there

There do seem to be a lot of "back of the cupboard" stashes Russia are finding, so we do need to take the comments some pundits are making about them running out with a large bag of salt.

On gas prices from the tweet image just above: Its NEXT winter that is the problem. The infrastructure to import LNG to replenish what used to come from Russia isn't there yet (I read that 55% of Europe's gas came from Russia a year ago). Germany are frantically building LNG terminals, but industrial use of gas is going to have to drop significantly so homes here and in Europe can be heated next winter.

It would be nice to be paying those low prices, but there's barely anywhere to store it at the moment !

EDIT: I'm no expert, but certifying a pipeline with a hole in it doesn't seem to be a good idea .....
Any good news your crystal ball says or is it all bad?

p.s.: asking for a friend.

If Russian stockpiles of missiles was not rapidly running down they would 1) not be launching only one attack every 3 weeks and 2) they would not be trying to buy replacements from Iran.

When London was bombed with the V2 missiles from the Germans did they launch one salvo every few weeks? No they were sent almost every day because they had thousands in supply

Speaking of which though, the GRU claims Iran has not yet sent any missiles to Russia; they would like to but are still hesitant about possible repercussions from the US and Israel.

Can you believe the Russians still don't have a functioning friendly aircraft identification system for contested air defence. One of the "Ukrainian Drones" shot down at the Engels air base a few days ago was actually a Russian SU-27.

Based on the comments from the Russian MoD it sounds like the Russian air defence simply saw the SU-27 appear on screen, thought it's a drone so fired missiles at it... and the Russian pilot did not survive

So basically, please please come to Moscow so I can look good and thank you Mr poo for taking all our gas and oil at rock bottom prices.

Poo bears little poodle is Putin.

I wish I knew: I could make money speculating on gas prices and I'm sure some smarter than me did so already over the last year. EU and UK won't run out of gas, we'll just have pay a shedload more for it to outbid anyone else. There's time now also for EU & UK to sign long term supply contracts at known prices instead of having to panic buy on the spot market, which is what lead to the silly spikes in price earlier this year. Those contracts are then also a permanent disengagement from Russia.

My crystal ball is largely the Economist and the non-tabloid news sources btw.

Russia's financial chaos continues.

^^ 'Those who have already come in can get their pensions. The rest, please, do not crowd. Go home. No cash. There is no power.'
This is what will bring Putin down.

They can lose all their men in battle, no problem, but when they lose access to their money then their will be riots.

Their way of life is going to be Putins downfall

Russians don't seem to be running out of missiles...
They will have unlimited supplies smuggled in from brics allies.

Dont think for one minute that they are not getting supplied from China, Iran and North Korea, Whether it be actual munitions or materials to make their own missillies

I thought Wagner were getting 100 million dollars a month for that, It was said a week or two ago thats what Russia were paying him

It doesn't matter how much money they're getting if all their men are getting killed or wounded within days of being deployed.

To be fair, both sides have lost horrific numbers of soldiers. There has been ten months of high intensity war. Fatigue is bound to set in eventually.

- The Soviet Union Is An Inseparable Part Of Russian History. Those Who Do Not Regret Its Disintegration Have No Conscience, And Those Who Want To Restore It Have No Brains
