I haven’t made that claim…. So I’ll ignore your request and give you some useful information.

Threats are not necessarily aggressive.

There are several things about ‘The West’ that threaten what Russians believe Russia is. There’s a word for it in fact… westernisation.

How does invading Ukraine help Russia to resist westernisation?

Most people don't actually bother watching any of it by the looks of things though difficult to avoid someone who has I'd imagine so still impacted even in their 'apathetic' stupor, they just know what to say to minimise friction in their life even when it crumbles around them regardless.

How does invading Ukraine help Russia to resist westernisation?

I think the theory would be that a neighbouring post USSR state prospering and having a better quality of life through westernisation would lead people in Russia to think "that looks nice, maybe we could have a functioning toilet and not live in a police state" which would be very bad for those profiting off said police state.

So invading that state so they can be forced to maintain said crap standard of living is the way forwards for the glory of the motherland.

Part of me expects this is also why USA are sending Abrams. Although highly impractical for the current conflict - in the long term there is going to be big influx of investment in heavy weaponry defending NATOs western land borders now.

I expect tank production to be a huge boost to any country that can win those contracts in the coming decades. The USA wouldn't want to exclude themselves from that as a potential supplier.

I saw something sawing the spec is diesel, marine diesel, jet fuel and normal petrol (gas)

I am sure it requires a reasonable level of modification to be able to switch between some of them

Saying that Ukraine have jet fuel anyway.
I assume the spares and maintenance (break out the Haynes manual? ) is far more of an issue than the fuel being burned.
