I wonder if they have given them any upgrades? 105m canon, no ERA, chassis design from the 60's, it makes you wonder how well these will stand up to the riggers of modern warfare.

Leopard 1A5 ; Leopard 2 Fire Control System , option to fit leopard 2 gun, APFSDS ammo, thermal sight (arguably better than the challenger one) , and bolt on lexan , extra armour to the turret

@Mercenary Keyboard Warrior , the gun is the British L7 , so theres plenty of ammo around. DM43 is comparable to the USA M833 DU fin round

Thats cool then.
I saw a couple of things in regards ammo so I guessed it wasnt current tech. The concerns must be about volume then

If a nation state was posting Western troops to the Donbass area I think Russia would have issue with it.

Sure mercenaries are a thing and both sides have them from various nations, but this is gov sanctioned personnel.

Funny double standard.

But only after it's stolen your chips

This is one of the dumbest posts I've seen. No wonder you would lap up everything the mainstream says.

May be because a nuclear bomb wouldn't target the ocean.

He is talking about the Status 6/Poseidon project... though as usual the reality is far different to Russian claims - the only way to produce such an effect would ironically also have significant impact on strategic Russian coastal areas like Murmansk and the very facilities where these subs are produced and maintained. (Not to mention require an unfeasibly large nuclear device).

Makes sense that even if it is just saber rattling we keep discussing how we will send ultra long range missiles to Ukraine so that they tie up their air defences like this.

500 malnourished soldiers are unlikely to make much difference but Russia likes using cannon fodder. Very interesting development though.
I wouldn't rule out the North Koreans.

They spend their entire life training so they will be far far better than most Russians.

USA couldn't beat them in 1952 and they have never stopped preparing for war.

USA (UN)could have beat them, in fact they had them on the run after the Landings that jumped behind them, only the intervention of China and millions of thier troops stopped unification of North and South.

Jury is out on quality of NK troops

The average height of a North Korean is 13 cm lower than South Korea through malnutrition. North Korean defectors have been found to have such medical maladies that are beyond what we would comprehend for example https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-42021373.amp

Let those ideas sink and then consider that a malnourished soldier that is barely kept alive and riddled with parasites will be be a formidable force is in cuckoo land.

Back in 1952 I’m sure a North Korea soldier was in far better condition than what they are in now but at the moment the average person is eating insects what they can forage in the fields for nutrition. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ibes-eating-insects-seeing-bodies-street.html

They would be cannon fodder in a modern war. They are very under equipped. Things only got out of hand in Korea as the Chinese got involved with their own forces. Russia had some forces in there too and a lot of equipment.

What I think as well. We will see shortly though as I’m sure it will be a Ukrainian propaganda win if they can rout the north Korea in battle.
