Can Ukraine defend against this?

They claim within the next 10 days Russia will launch its biggest operation yet and Russia has amassed a large number of vehicles for it

"Russian occupiers have prepared 1,800 tanks, 3,950 armoured vehicles, 2,700 artillery systems, 810 multiple-rocket-launch systems, 400 fighter jets, and 300 helicopters for a new offensive operation in Ukraine"

Who is "they" ? Is that Russia or someone on the Ukraine intelligence side ?

If true, that's all going to be visible on satellite and so UA will know whereabouts to be placing defence. Going to assume its all currently out of HIMARS range, or just over the border in Belarus - as UA generally not caused any "smoking accidents" there.

If this is the case then it’s game over for Ukrain. That’s a lot of armour. 100 plus tanks donated no matter how good cant beat a numbers game .

Like I said a year ago , if you want to stop Putin advancing in Ukraine sooner or later your going to have to play Nuclear poker.

Who claims? Much like the buildup of forced in Feb last year please share the satellite images.

You can't hide that much equipment without anyone noticing now.

Annoyingly most of the sources I used last year are just reposting news articles of Zelensky's visit etc., aside from a few train loads of T-80s and T-90s (probably a couple of hundred total) I've not seen much evidence of a significant build up and nothing of any size in any of the satellite imagery I've access to.

There is a general beefing up of air-defences in Russia and Belarus with some being moved towards the Polish border, etc. a moderate build up of Russian forces and equipment in Belarus and near Mariupol but barely 1/10th the kind of numbers talked about above.

They defended against more than that during the initial invasion. Now, as others have said, every road and field the Russians could use for this new offensive is covered by ELINT, HUMINT, 155mm artillery batteries, HIMARs. Ukrainian airspace now has a lot more AAA and SAM capability to defend it than it did last year.

The Russians are going to get absolutely slaughtered.

Apologies if I have missed it earlier in the Thread (it moves very quickly), I've just read a few opinion pieces referencing a US journalist claiming the US was responsible for the Nord Stream destruction. Apparently the journalist has a source involved in the process (if I read it right). That would be quite a story if it was proved correct.

Fingers crossed, but 95% of that will be nonsense plus significant amount of the way in will be mined so many of the orc zerg will meet a quick end. Hopefully Russian mumsnet will have had enough and start kicking off.

Person on the internet types some words and numbers. Taken as fact.

Took them months to build up at the start. And the whole world new about it weeks in advance via sat images. This is just BS. I'm sure there will be a push on the anniversary but it won't be with that equipment.

I wish we could build up a fleet of advanced stealth Hurricanes and send those. Fit them with some HARMS and watch the Russain air defence die out.

Spam out Shermans with some nice advanced Rheinmetall guns, coupled with some large drone swarms with AI.

Then the F16s turn up and Russia gets pushed back home to their crappy lands.

Hello !! Biden himself said they were going to take care of Nordstream.
Do you need a punch on the nose to make it seem real.

This itself was international terrorism.
