Hopefully Ukraine will begin another push soon and make Putin's speech laughably irrelevant, like when they were declaring parts of Ukraine parts of Russia while Zelenskyy's army was knocking at their door.

Not really. In fact Putin's rhetoric highlights how correct the "SJW's" argument is.

The leader of the 9th largest economy in the world just made it a part of why he is crusading against the west. He's angry and willing to go to war, in part, because countries that he has no control over are fine with a man touching another man's willy, and he (supposedly :eek::p) doesn't like that.

If we didn't have a societal culture war right now he would have just picked on something else. I don't think he partially cares about LGBTQ+ anything, it's just a useful stick he can wheel out

It’s a fear that needs to be set aside or Russia will just keep picking off, or at least attempting to, country by country. Nuclear war won’t happen. Remember that Russia can always just leave back to its own country.

He is far closer to Adolf Hitler. Ultra nationalist and uses religion as an excuse to persecute members of society that he and his followers dislike. Has ambitions to recreate the Russian Empire that he feels was unfairly snatched from them, uses nationalistic rhetoric to justify invading neighbours and is fully supported by religious leaders in the country.

edit: and of course murders anyone who tries to stand in his way and paints them as anti Russian and a traitor.
