I will say that it's possible Russia will learn from this and start the war manufacturing a new with new tech, and engage more in this with China. Will see what the future holds.
It wont happen again, Ukraine will join NATO after this and have the one for all protection NATO brings.
Putin has had his one shot of reclaiming the old USSR and failed miserably.
Not only failed but put his country back 20 years, the west will never accept them now and sanctions are here to stay as long as this regime is in charge.
Getting rid of Putin isn't enough, their needs to be a pro western leader, fairly elected for that to change, even then it would take time.
I do have sympathy for the younger Russian generation, they were living the western way, iPhone, BMW's, Nike etc, a normal life you could say

Despite what Putin says the sanctions will start to hurt, harder and harder each month when that deficit keeps growing, 34 billion last month and getting bigger every month.
