Russia has changed their foreign policy. They consider the west as an actual threat. Can someone explain to me how can England allow Russian athletes play in the tennis tournament?

It's probably along the lines of "All Muslims are not terrorists" thinking. I am sure those who proffered such lines will agree that all Russians are not wishing to annihilate the west? Although someone in here a while back made an extremely derogatory statement about "all Russians are...." which had I made the same statement about all X I would probably be banned.

That's my take, plus haemorrhaging money both in support of the Ukrainian cause, and against the Russian one will eventually rattle a wider and wider demographic, here and elsewhere, both individuals and companies.

Its my genuine belief that majority of Russian probably "decent" people, however for the most part couldnt give a flying **** whats happening 10ft from their doorway as long as they have enough food and Vodka to survive off. Its that apathy that has let criminals like Putin stay in charge so long and overreach so far that they are now effectively a full on dictator state.
However, that said... That comment lands a little closer to home than I care for

*I'm not suggesting our government are anywhere near as bad as Russia, just a casual observation of the current state of our own political situation*

Russia struggles to replace its counter battery radar systems after Ukraine destroyed many

For a conflict so heavily reliant on arty thats a huge issue. Though I'm not sure what Ukraine's CIDF/Counter Bty fire capability is, or should I say how much of it is left... I know they have been supplied with a fair number of C-IDF radar systems from multiple nation including the MAMBA (Effectively ARTHUR) systems from us. Big problem with C-IDF radars though is the huge EM footprint it has. As soon as you radiate to locate incoming rounds, Its like a massive beacon in a pitch black night for En forces EW capability to pinpoint.

Rural Russians are what Chris Wilson is in the UK, basically.

Not sure how accurate this article is, I've never heard of this site

It claims Poland is conducting training missions with F35 and Mig29 to see if it can datalink the two planes and if successful they can use their F35's to try and provide some data to Ukraine's mig29's

Sounds like wishful thinking to me; even if the planes can communicate, can the radar of a F35 flying on the Polish border really help Mig29's flying on the Eastern front? what do you guys make of it?

That sort of relies on you having the ability to pinpoint and then hit the radar systems. and from what I understand Ukraine has got/been getting a number of small highly portable units so isn't quite so reliant on the larger more expensive ones that Russia tends to use.

I'd also guess that Ukraine is currently in a far better position to lose such systems given that Russia probably doesn't have much ability to replace theirs, but Ukraine is being given gear from pretty much every NATO nation in addition to what they'd already got.

Don't get to excited, reading through the article on Reuters the bulk of the package is basically a purchase order to buy munitions from American industry of the $2.6b announced 'only' $500m is pulled directly of US stocks to help Ukraine with a spring offensive. Still though in the long run that's a lot of shells and bullets coming Ukraine's way just not right away.

Russia most definitely have got the ability to pinpoint the systems. Their ability to accurately strike those systems has been severely degraded, though it is not non existent.

agree LTA will get commercial benefit from their participation whilst rest of the UK population is making economic sacrifice for Russian invasion they abhor;
Rishi/govt should step in with some overuling sanctions; seems like an appropriate windmill for Keir to tilt at.

to wit “ George Orwell famously depicts the clash of international sport as ‘War minus the shooting’”

Russia has banned dairy imports from Armenia after Armenia said its going to adopt the Rome statute and arrest Putin if he enters the country

That's strong stuff from Armenia, given their traditional strong links to Russia.

Probably also a little ticked off that Russia left them to it with Azerbaijan recently.

There's a fascinating 10 min video released today worth checking out of two tanks and a bmp advancing on a Russian trench. We're very lucky Russia don't posses things like NLAW's as these tanks would be so vulnerable now.

T position footage? there is quite a bit of stuff recently released by the 54th Mech of some really brutal fighting.

F-35 has long range capability to track ballistic missiles, useful for picking up on stuff coming out of Belarus, and can probably act as a relay to the Migs as well from other AWACS, etc. aircraft.

I don't think it is the ideal way of doing it though.

as distasteful as it is, For an organisation to be legitimate it must follow its own regulations. Even if it does mean empowering the enemy for a short time, we must prove that the democratic way is king
