"The AELTC and LTA said they stand by last year's position but that without changing their stance this year, tennis' two main professional tours, the men's ATP and women's WTA would have cancelled the LTA's membership."

"As a result, Queen's, Eastbourne and other British grass-court events would not have been staged, damaging British tennis organisations financially."

Money talks I guess...
The atmosphere is going to be really welcoming for these players :D

But like some sports they have to compete as neutrals. Didn't the IOC talk about this the other day? Agree not to support the Russian or Belarusian states and leaders. Not receive any funding from those states or companies owned by the states.

Burn it down

I am curious what he thinks an F-16 will provide over a MIG-29 when it comes to making western weapons more effective.
The ability to engage Russian planes at comparable ranges instead of being shot down before they get anywhere near missile range.

I made a large and (if I do say so myself) informative post on it a few pages back but the TLDR is that they don't actually need western jets, they need AMRAAM missiles, and right now having western jets is the only way to use AMRAAM missiles.

My guess is that they want western bombs and missiles that are significantly superior to the Soviet stock they have and they can't use the western weapons on the mig29. Though America is trying to make one or two western weapons compatible with the mig29 it's a slow process - the mig29's can shoot agm-88 harm's now and they are also working on agm-120 amram but it's gonna be a while whether we know if agm-120 works or not on the mig29

The HAARM is quite limited in its operation when fired from a Mig I'd seen reported. Be good to see some AMRAAMs and HAARMs used to the full.

Integrating NATO ordinance in to ex-Soviet aircraft is no trivial task. There is a huge about of data transfer between the weapon and the aircraft's systems. Yes, once launched a lot of these weapons are fire-and-forget but up until that point, all the target acquisition and designation is done by the aircraft's systems. You'd be looking at either replacing large sections of the weapons systems and avionics, or piggy backing a bunch of stuff on to the existing systems. Then you have issues such as interfacing with the Russian radar and IR systems, control and integration of a TILDS etc.

Lukashenko sounds like he's panicking.
Its not panicking its a veiled threat, nuclear sabre rattling parotting Putin.

The atmosphere is going to be really welcoming for these players :D
Its Wimbledon not a football match they won't be jeering anyone the worst that will happen will be a very polite silence.

Maybe the government should step up and deny them visas to enter. The AELTC should hang their heads in shame.

Isn't it more about availability than capability? Ukraine is almost entirely dependent on the West for weapons; none of those partners make ex-Soviet style ammunition, missiles, bombs, etc.

I'm not sure additional aircraft would make the massive difference a lot are hoping for (not denying it wouldn't help of course) but I tend to agree with a lot of the assessments made by the likes of Ben Wallace et al. Reliable supplies of ammunition, missile defence systems, armour and longer range missiles would make more of an impact. The Russians are too bedded in now.

I was hoping that the delivery of the promised GLSDB's would make a dramatic difference on the battlefield but as I understand it they are not in frequent supply, although they have the available materials to build them. Has anyone seen any reports of them being used so far in the conflict? I believe it was said they would provide the Ukrainians with drastically increased range than what they can currently achieve.

edit- my awful grammar

Russia has changed their foreign policy. They consider the west as an actual threat. Can someone explain to me how can England allow Russian athletes play in the tennis tournament?

The Olympics is supposed to be above politics, so the bar for exclusion tends to be pretty high.

There's a fascinating 10 min video released today worth checking out of two tanks and a bmp advancing on a Russian trench. We're very lucky Russia don't posses things like NLAW's as these tanks would be so vulnerable now.
