Its rather busy in the UK and Europe today this is military only selected is this a normal Monday? :D

What is a wonder is that any request to provide proof to some outlandish claims. Is met with dismissal and callings of paid Putin shill.

This is on somewhat elite computer hardware forum where at this point average age is well into 40+.

I wonder if anyone is still surprised by total lack of intelligence from our leadership such as BJ and Truss. After all, they are still coming from the people.

I’m sure next time MOD is presented with a Russian military advancement that we should counter - our response would be. Escort out the Putin shill!!

You have 170 posts in this thread, the last 118 of which are uninterrupted by a single post in any other thread and you wonder why people are judging you by this?

You serious? :D

I like this from the BBC

  1. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the "evidence is pretty clear" that Russia is planning an invasion of Ukraine
  2. Johnson cuts short a trip to North West England as he says there are "signs that show that there are serious preparations" being made by Russia

They've been telling us for weeks now that Russia is going to be invade, it's no longer news, what will be news is when the Artillery starts firing into Ukraine

Without a coup / massive defections - I don’t see how Russia could achieve much with a general invasion.

A localised incursion to “liberate” the rebel areas made more sense- Whether taking a small chunk of Ukraine would be worth the inevitable sanctions seems unlikely.

I'm not surprised at all by lack of intelligence. Governments dont tend to release "intelligence", they release snippits of pertinent information to press etc.
Intelligence is a closely guarded secret because to release actual intelligence can betray sources, means of collection and capability, allowing this sensitive information to be known can give adversaries means to counter our intelligence collection ability.
I mean you are aware security classification system we use right? I can guarantee you that all of this intelligence will be classified as secret or above. I.E not for public dissemination. They may choose to declassify and release small bits of info for press conferences etc.

OSInt covering the region has provided plenty of "evidence" of the military build up, combine that with known tactics and precedence's, and you have a general idea of whats going on. An actual attack is far from certain, however it is going by what is happening despite ol Vlad saying he's not going to attack, forces keep mounting up and it would be very unwise for Ukraine and surrounding region not to take heed and prepare for the worst, that is what is happening.

would be nice to see proposals of more stringent sanctions like (mutual) ejection of some london/moscow embassy folks.

Referring to pipelines between Russia and Europe, Mr Johnson said European capitals needed to "get Nord Stream out of the bloodstream, yank out that hypodermic drip feed of Russian hydrocarbons that is keeping so many European economies going".
who writes this junk, Princess nut nut.

From watching the interview where he said it, it wasn't scripted and he just pulled it out of his arse/head (is there any difference ?)

It's still hard to tell what exactly is going to happen, either Vlad cares little about sanctions and is going to invade regardless, or he's playing the most epic game of chicken and thinks putting such a large force on the border will eventually make Nato back down and meet his demands and they won't call his bluff (not sure what he does if the bluff is called, maybe he just goes all out and attacks anyway)

Not sure what you mean by "they are still coming from the people".

No, nobody with any intellect is at all surprised with the lack of leadership and embarrassment on the world stage.

Depends if what they write and how they write reminds us of a certain Bureau in St Petersburg.
