You'd have been OK then if Russia had sent a "couple of units at most" to Northern Ireland to help the IRA during the Troubles?

They almost certainly did. Interesting fact, I lived on an estate in the 80s that was a high police presence, private they just bought a lot there as it was the place to be. There was an (eventual) IRA bomber living alongside them for years.

There are US special forces in the UK right now as well. I know that as I live along side a load of them.

Realistically US special forces (and UK, french etc) are all over. They don't just sit there in Barracks.

The "active" US forces are almost certainly no where near the actual combat lines. Them being active would be worse than active air force and we know they wont do that for fear of escalation.

He's saying they're in combat, there is zero proof of that as the Russians would have climbed all over it if it was true, thus what he is saying is a lie purely to get his audience all riled up and scared.

Even if it was true it would only be right considering that the USSR sent in their pilots during the Korean war directly against US forces.

I haven't seenn the leak details but it would seem common sense that there are likely some Special Forces present in country for embassy protection or to support weapons deliveries. I doubt they're in combat roles.

US and UK Special Forces are on the ground, US and UK intelligence is being used in the air, the US and UK are both providing lethal weapons to Ukraine, we aren't neutral parties - we are essentially a participant in the conflict. If we weren't a nuclear power backed by NATO Russia would almost certainly bomb us. Our governments have put the UK and US's national security at risk without consulting our parliament and their congress.

I think you know that DIRECT conflict with the US would look much different than what Russia has now.

Few conflicts happen by vote. And the US has been involved with as much security assurances as anyone, often to appease Russia, when it comes to Ukraine.

You've added the word "direct" in there, but I didn't say direct. It's just that if you're providing lethal arms, intelligence, and have soldiers on the ground training/assisting/supporting/whoever knows, then you're in the conflict. We can say there's no declared state of war, we can say we aren't "directly" (lol) involved, and there's no proof our special forces have killed Russians (I'd be surprised if they didn't defend that airfield early on in the war), but we've done enough that by any reasonable measure we are involved in the conflict.
