Ask your parents if you can watch the Orks rush a trench and die
It's truly astonishing footage, that squad leader did a tremendous job and put himself in a VERY exposed position to the RU forces pushing the left flank... but it paid off.

Balls of steel.

I am actually starting to get a little worried now.
All the decent stuff is arriving in Ukraine, all the troops, squads, teams etc are getting back at the same time

If Ukraine doesn't make some nice meaty gains I think the war could end up far more prolonged and with it far more chance of it overspilling (eg Belarus(sia))

Personally I think the chance to take the initiative and force the Russian forces to leave of their own accord, potentially winding down the war, at least for now, has largely come and gone and any window left is rapidly closing. Russia though is also quite lethargic at growing into this war - they are still rummaging around for older stuff while doing very little to ramp up repairing or refurbishing battle damaged or old stock and very slow in producing anything new.

It's interesting in the latest footage coming out of Ukraine that they seem very well equipped now. M4s with optics or holographic sights. The Russians still seem to be running around with iron sights. The effective kill range is going to be so much lower on the Russian side than the Ukrainian considering the difference in sighting alone.

I saw some footage the other day, a few Ukrainian tanks were running amok. Very bad practice becuase they had no support, but it didn't really matter because the Russians had no anti-tank weapons.

on one hand that sounds like basic war craft that you would have done back in the day before starting a war.... on the other hand................ do they not have satellite data?

i imagine google maps would be a good start (but havent checked) ;)

when ever the likes of the mail says "it is claimed" my gut feeling is it is nonsense.

Meaty gains as in dead russians goes very well.

On Youtube, most intense combat footage of this war

Some very poorly trained soldiers in that group. The squad leader was great, although he got lucky IMO.

Not necessarily training - some people just don't seem to listen and just stand there going "huh" regardless of training - super frustrating when you need people to just listen and do basic things :(

There is some amazing footage coming out lately. That squad leader is amazing, seems like the kind of leader you'd follow into the gates of Hell if he told you to.

He seemed to live a charmed life - couple of points by all rights he would have eaten a bullet. Shame the rest weren't that responsive to what was going on though.

Video purporting to show T-72s being upgraded to B3 standard:

Though looks like they are missing some armour upgrades.

Surely that is trench warfare though? When you have enemy coming at you from multiple directions its going to be partly luck that you don't eat a bullet when you have to expose yourself to shoot at them. He kept a cool head and didn't stop talking to his troops, I can imagine it would be easy to lose it with the adrenaline and stress of the moment. Like the other video where Ukrainian troops attack the Russian trench and the squad leader gets shot in the head as the attack starts but he gets back up and leads the attack. Sometimes lady luck is just on your side.

I'd imagine Russian strategy would be to attempt to cut off rather than invade Estonia (one aspect of that attempting to take Gotland by force so as to install S-400 complexes) and utilise their forces to link up with Kaliningrad one way or another.

Not sure Russia as is could carry that out any more - they've lost much of the reserves of hardware and manpower required.
Well they cant even take a small town called Bakhmut right now so what chance in hell do they have of taking on another country
