I don't know enough about the potential payload these things can carry, but let's assume that Russia has simply been stockpiling missiles for a larger barrage of them, if they do so, and it doesn't win the thing, then yes it's caused damage but it's not as if it's likely to conclusively end things.

After which, they run out again, and have to slowly rebuild the stockpile to repeat the same again.

I'll watch things unfold and refer to commentary from those with expertise on the subject of how this changes things.

Hmm some activity on 7546 CW (morse) but I dunno if it is strategic bomber activity.

EDIT: No it isn't related activity.

None of the current assigned "bear net" channels are active.

Maybe they really were Sukhoi passenger jets.

Honestly if the amount of Russian bombers were going up as talked about and heading west or north I'd have expected to see more of a response from NATO just in case. Not ruling out strikes tonight but so far it seems far too quiet.

EDIT: Also all air raid alerts in Ukraine have been returned to all clear status.

The US has a setup with civilian airliners and palletised cruise missiles :o

But yeah Russian combat aircraft rarely show on flight radar especially the bombers - only government flights and transports.

Rapid Dragon’s been tested with the likes of the C-17 and C-130, and needs the tail ramp that strategic and tactical transport aircraft have to roll the rack with the missiles off. Unless you have civilian versions of those aircraft, then you’re typical civilian airliner like a Boeing 777 or Airbus A330 can’t launch Rapid Dragon.

Cool concept though, as it turns otherwise harmless trash haulers into missile trucks that can dump dozens of low observable AGM-158’s on an enemy, which certainly won’t tickle.
