It's just like watching an airsoft video. Scary as hell.
Attacking Poland and raping every woman between Moscow and Berlin (very slight exaggeration) seem like pretty hefty crimes they've avoided justice over.

Attacking Finland and Poland, annexing the Baltics, and then raping and pillaging and genociding their way across eastern and Central Europe. It wasn't some noble liberation Russia were after the same goals and lands the Nazi were.

The Russians in that trench didn't have a chance to surrender.
Far too simple a view point.
Course they did. They didn't have to wait until they were under attack.

They weren't heroes at all. They were dubious allies. Never trusted. Plans existed for the US and Britain to invade Russia following the defeat of the nazis.

There was far less focus on raping and genociding in my books. Mostly these were about USSR alliance with UK and USA to fight fascism.
And then genocide was condemned at Nurenberg trials, including exposed PLANNED in advance AND DELIBERATE execution of jews and slavs on occupied territory.

rhetoric change from "Mad Vlad Putin must pay for sudden and unprovoked attack of Ukraine" to "Evil peoples of Russia must pay for sins of past 84 years" is dangerous
This is the kind of attitude that justifies genocide, and incidentally war crimes like the rape and murder of civilians. It's incredible people lack such self awareness. Despite playing online games and dealing with the general public, I do sometimes forget how stupid most people are. Posts like this act as a reminder though.
