I was thinking Putin may favour holding the drill in the unrecognised Donbas region.. but that depends on risk. Crimea and close boarders make it easier for Putin to position but not be in danger.
 
So is it the separatist's blowing up their own people, FSB agents or maybe it's another state altogether like China looking for a distraction or a Western nation frothing for some war... the possibilities.
 
Guess they'll want to blame it on the Azov Battalion or some other far-right group in addition to implying that the Ukraine government is involved to delegitimise them.
 
Nothing says "we did it" than sounding alarms and transporting people out of the area first. It's almost like they knew it would happen before anyone else..
 
The tactics were known a few weeks ago but Putin has done it anyway.

He is fooling no one except his own people who will believe it was a terrorist attack and want revenge.

This gets the Russian public on side. They will have a blanket ban on whats really happening as all they see is state sponsored news and internet,
 
This is getting cringe level of manipulation... I mean you could have probably got away with this type of nonsense and passed it off as legitimate maybe 30 years ago. However, the world is a lot less naïve these days, there is far too much information available far too much coverage to make this look remotely legitimate and we've seen it all too often before. Why even bother going through the motions of trying to come up with a reason?
 
Seems like there stuff from both sides going on BBC reporting on the playschool was a fake.

It's a car explosion with no casualties and you guys are acting as if full scale invasion is full steam ahead. If invasion will happen, this event is not what would have caused it.

I don't think anyone is under any illusion this event will 'cause' anything - there's a reasonable chance it's marking the start of the (mis)information campaign that'll lead up to something happening though - it's all a bit too coincidental otherwise isn't it?
