Looks like Australia has the first batch of slinger anti drone systems ready to go to the Ukrainians. These Should help out with the limited Gepard ammunition. Switzerland should probably reconsider its position on Gepard ammunition now Iran has setup production of its Shahed drones in Russia.
Yea but its a legit target, its only a matter of time before the site is identified and attacked.

I would imagine the air defense around it will be high but where there's a will there's a way

The companies that stopped trading in Russia have been replaced by identical companies with a minor name change, the only people being punished are the business owners. Hilarious this is even a thing.

You really do come out with some special takes - when a Western country pulls out the domestic replacement doesn't have the import and export flows and other financial/economical benefits from Western markets and/or Western money flows, relying on Russian sourced supplies or less favourable alternatives like BRICS/China, having a not insignificant impact on the Russian economy. For example Unilever having factories in Russia which bring in billions of Rubles into the Russian economy.

I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to true "essentials" of the nature of stuff like baby food, etc. but sadly most of the companies still in there are using that as something to hide behind rather than abiding by the spirit of why these sanctions, etc. exist.

EDIT: Though in the case of fast food that is more symbolic than anything.

I agree with stopping things that directly help the military like computer chips that have military applications, but Burger King? It's laughable. They'll just remove the branding and the profits will go to a Russian Oligarch instead which is exactly what happened with McDonalds. The Russian public do not give a ****, they know the West hates Russia already

The Russian population have had decades to taste what the western way of life is, removing this increases the likelihood of younger Russians becoming disenfranchised with what Russia is doing to Ukraine and either leave the country or think about trying to do something about it.

Less money going into the Russian public's hands doesn't help with the health of their economy, though that is a relatively minor story here. But it doesn't set a good example if some companies get to remain in Russia while others have to leave.

They don't carry on as normal though, past a few days.
Once the stocks start to run out they cannot replace like for like
There was footage of McDs like less than a week after McDs pulled out, showing all the buns being mouldy etc

Things seem pretty healthy in Kiev as i have a friend who arrived last week and says he seems troops rotating in while hes out at restaurants.

It's a bit of a coincidence you mention that. I have a friend that went back to Kiev from the UK about 2 months ago. She has mentioned more than once R&R, in fact in the time she has been back in Kiev she has seen and talked with the same group of soldiers Twice.
Which says to me Ukraine is rotating troops more often than you would normally expect within a war zone. Talking to her a few mins ago she thinks the reason for it is that the front line is so intense and so stressful that the high command know full well they have to rotate as often as possible.
Because they are doing this, troops are more "productive". By that she absolutely means they can can actually kill more Russians. When you look at recent Russian losses........................i fully believe her.

There is actually a problem there, there is only so much they can rotate troops before they are having to rely on less seasoned/not so well equipped units for example territorial forces to plug gaps, which is where a lot of the time Russia has managed to make gains. For example at Bakhmut they were forced to rotate out the heavier equipped 93rd mechanized forces for the lighter Airmobile 46th, which had recently been reconstituted, and territorial forces, which is when Russia managed to gain momentum.

Not to bad mouth the territorial forces, they've been fighting heroically, but there is no substitute for the heavier equipped, hugely experienced brigades like the 92nd and 93rd, etc.

Another reason Ukraine needs plenty of ammo and the ability to fight with sophistication i.e. advanced mobile artillery, so they aren't running into the same levels of attrition and forced more and more to depend on less experience forces.

They're carrying on as normal, the profits are just going to Russians instead of the West lol. The buns were made in Russia just the same as McDonalds buns here are made in the UK, why would they be mouldy? The only thing that changes is the branding and where the profit goes.

Curious you've chosen Moscow as proof.

Moscow will be the last place to experience hardship of any kind.

She wasn't talking about about entire units earlier on today, she was talking about 15 soldiers and they were only in Kiev for 5 days each time. This to me makes perfect sense from a command point of point of view, send small segments of a unit on R&R for a short period of time. You really don't deplete an entire unit by loosing 15 experienced men at a time. Especially if all the ones left know that they will be rotated out when the others come back.

You understand that Brazil is the top exporter of Beef and Chicken in the world right?

That has little relevance to the full scope of my post, not to mention my edit at the bottom.

When do the Abrams come to the field

At the risk of war porn/entertainment value being at the expense of Ukraine I'd like to see some actual combat footage of the Challengers in action never mind Abrams.

Burger Kings meat was sourced from Russia's own agricultural sector anyway, so your entire point is moot really. If not from there then from South America, of which Brazil/Argentina and Mexico are the biggest exporters in the world.

What exactly is wrong with BRICS that makes it unfavourable anyway?
