That said I usually take 15% off from those reported numbers as there is always a bit of overestimation on those thing.

The issue is the equipment levels combined with the lack of air or artillery superiority.
Combined arms seems to be something other people do for the russian army.
plus the fact that ukraine has more anti tank weapons per soldier than any other army in the past. To the point the west is looking for a modern version of the law 80, instead of relying on specialised squads.

Possibly a push for Vladolf’s election campaign. Although Gerasimov and Shoigu would probably have to sign off. That said, I don’t think Shoigu ever even served.

I work on the premise that the Ukrainian numbers are exaggerated slightly and the defender inflicts 5:1 losses against a poorly planned attack.
So Ukraine losses might be about 10% - 20% of those Russian loss claims. I sincerely would love it to be even less.

It looks like Russia took limited ground but at a massive cost in equipment especially. That's good as they have the people but not the equipment in the longer term.

Problem is people and equipment is deteriorating in quality.
