I don't think Russia can afford to lose much of those larger planes considering their already stretched supply chain for parts and the longer this goes on the more likely they're shoot all their airforce down by themselves.
Perhaps it's time for a poll: If you had to fly, which of these two options would you pick?
- Russian Air Force plane
- Boeing 737
"If it ain't Boeing I ain't going" ....... No wait
Because he talks so much *****7x quotes for Roar87 on this page alone.
ByeSorry I'll leave you guys alone to post about a warehouse fire in Russia being somehow related to the war in Ukraine, or another completely laughably fake story related to Putin being a meanie.
Russian telegram channels continue to state that an IL-22 and A50 awacs were shot over the Sea of Azov near the Crimea bridge. The telegram channels say the IL-22 managed to land with damage and on fire, but the A50- awacs is MIA.
They now decided Ukraine couldn't have shot these down and are blaming their own air defence - and interestingly at the same time these two planes were reportedly hit, the Kerch bridge was closed and air defence sirens were going on - so the Russians are suggesting due the detection of something in the air incoming they shut the bridge, turned on their air defence and shot at whatever they could see, which happened to be awacs and command planes nearby
Special training exerciseJust a training exercise. Nothing to see here.
"But Muh RuSsia cud invAd3 and b3at Eur0p3!!"
Usually, doctrine would dictate that awacs is one the most important aircraft in the sky and must be protected at all cost. So in nato when you put an awacs in the sky, you also put up fighters who fly next to the awacs to act as interceptors to defend it
Hang onRussian telegram channels continue to state that an IL-22 /snip
According to Roar in the middle east thread when NATO puts fighters in the air they send fighters to protect the fighters.
Not sure who protects them however, even more fighters?
Thats when hes not saying the fighers are doing the bombing of course.
