Finland was part of the former Russian Empire under the tsars and Stalin tried to take it again during WW2 he had a similar false flag operation the finns fought a rather brilliant "winter war" to rid themselves of the russians, Putin stated he basically wants to reform the old russian empire so its an obvious step for them to make. Also urgent.

And the part where Finland were part of the Axis powers until they realised Germany were really the bad guys lol

Interesting M96532 turned around - guess they got the NOTAM late though no diverting information.

Same for ELY029 - sudden change in route.
 
If I was Putin and going to invade I wouldn't go in tonight - I'd wait until midday Thursday when people are stressed/overtired from the disruption tonight and starting to let their guard down.

To counter that, more time to prepare, more time to fly more gear in, more time for the rest of the world to decide what to do.

PQ8003/SQP8003 took off from Kiev and immediately landed

FORTE12 looks like it's bugging out of the area it has been in all night too

Ukraine airspace fully locked down now, only aircraft authorised by Ukrainian Air Force allowed


It's going to ramp up now I guess

Its kind of weird how twitter says that Mariupol and Mykolaivka are fighting but there is no tv channel, UK, Euro or US based saying the same thing. You'd think some tv channel somewhere would be covering that sort of thing

For some channels the news has to be verified before broadcast, its super easy to fling something up on social media without any checks.
