No because EU USA UK NATO whomever, will not put feet on ground in the Ukraine, under any circumstances in my opinion.

Ukraine will be left to get on with it on their own.

If it was going to be anything else, there would be hundreds of thousands of allied troops already there.

Time for NATO to step up and start spending again and to admit any nations that want in.

As usual the west will present some half hearted response. Putin knows he can do whatever he wants and NATO won’t confront him.
 
If Russia starts to initiate cyber attacks against Western governments, entities and institutions then wouldn't that be classed as an escalation and an act of war against NATO countries?

I mean it would, but none of the 'totally not Russia honest' cyberattacks have ever resulted in a declaration.

There are a few European nations I can see getting in now, Finland and Sweden along with possibly Bosnia/Kosovo - I'd still keep Georgia out myself; no sense walking straight into a live conflict.

I have to admit as much as we've known this has been coming for weeks now I still can't quite believe that we're seeing a European nation invaded on such a scale; its like something out of another era

Not sure, there was a similar report at the time that Russians had landed at Mariupol as well but Skys reporter has just been on and he is in Mariupol and says he hasnt seen any Russian forces at all, so sounds like the amphibious landings reports arent accurate

Yeah I don't get it. Surely the best case scenario is Russia ends up occupying a country with a nasty insurgency on its hands while sanctioned by every Western state, and a large increase in NATO spending with more troops deployed on its doorstep. Worst case being that they don't manage to steamroll Ukraine, end up in a long and bloody war, possibly with direct intervention on Ukraine's side by another country, lose the Crimea and Eastern Ukraine regions, AND they get sanctioned and NATO spending and deployments increase. Illogical ideology seems like the only explanation.

It always seems like Putin has a clever scheme and knows what he's doing, but maybe he's gone too far this time. Then again maybe he's not and actually he gets what he wants... Guess we'll see.
