Probably explains why everything in China also seems to spontaneously combust too, from buildings to vehicles to people. Knock off Russian designs.

Saw a picture recently of the interior of the same base design of ship in Russian and Chinese service - sure the Chinese one was much newer build but it looked like you'd see from a Western ship in service (probably a bit nicer as it was likely from commissioning) while the Russian one was literally rusting away and almost literally held together with shoe strings and tape...

EDIT: Found it https://twitter.com/louischeung_hk/status/1578910784012582912 is actually from the carrier not submarine.

No it doesn't stop at 40 (I'm well over 40 and as it happens returned my reporting letter today), but yes MD's, redundancies and dishounorable discharges don't have reserve liability
Hmm that’s not how it was explained to me when I left, the way I understood it was you were liable for any service you didn’t complete ie i completed 16 years colour service and if I wasn’t offered redundancy I would have been liable to be called up for another 6 years or my 40th birthday, which ever was sooner

A work in progress but someone looking at why it likely wasn't ATACAMS or similar:
Guy didn't watch the earlier video posted on here, which explains why they intentionally/strategically may have decided to not cut the complete bridge -
leave some escape route, don't alienate partisan folks in Crimea, lose ability to satellite monitor weapons imports .... sounds a bit like anti-personnel mines that just maim.

....
So these Kalibr retaliation miisiles are not so accurate https://techjournalism.medium.com/h...e-the-outcome-of-the-ukraine-war-47b71a3b6f87
guess they won't say if some came from submarines (as well as via moldovia) which gives less ability to anticipate their course and react with defenses.

The main thrust of the thread is comparing reference footage for ATACAMS against the damage on the bridge and why it likely wasn't the work of such missiles or similar as some suggest it might be.

I'd agree that the intention may not have been a total destruction of the ability to use the bridge so error probability of the missile may not be a significant factor, but that isn't the only aspect they are looking at.

Cowardly by Russia.

This is of a concern though

Poland, which shares a border with Belarus, has advised its citizens to leave the country, according to Reuters.

Still gravitating towards interior Russian forces for various rationales that each elite group might have down to regional rebellions, a somewhat lucky operation by Ukraine using something homemade or captured but the lack of acknowledged air defense by locals makes me suspicious of this (though adultering a lorry's cargo is certainly not impossible if the Russian side of the bridge is easily bribed) and there is also the possibility of a completely unknown state actor like China or the any number of Western agencies trying to control the situation to their benefit.

Likely never know until the war is concluded and possibly not even then.

Should wait for them to fix it and then hit it again, right as the first train trundles across.

The fsb doing their thing. With the experience from late 90's of bombing their own high rise flats. It is their work to support the aggresion against Ukraine. The same goes with NS gas supply as well as dugina bomb under seat.
If fsb reported the truth then there would not have been an invasion and the army would not need to get exposed of the corruption. Now they just try to **** each other by doing ****.

Well "similar" might be possible still within the bounds of the argument they're looking at as in a bit bigger than ATACMS, some existing missile Ukraine has made more accurate possibly.

But more to the point, forget analysing the blasts, if it were a missile strike then hitting the train and disabling the railway bridge too was very lucky, a nice coincidence!

Seems more like that was intentional as the railway bridge is the higher value target so in that case: truck or drone boat seem more likely.

I'm kinda persuaded by something along the lines of a big fertilizer bomb assembled in Russia and remotely detonated.

Only they’d all have sunburn being pasty ginger in the sun (wife is a pasty redhead).

Unless you target Wick or Thurso there aren't actually that many people up there and the mountains aren't small. A small nuke detonated at very low level on a bad day in a remote glen might only be noticed by seismometers and by people only when someone tried to visit the bothy.

2.5K won't make much difference though.

It can be played as an advance party.

They’ll surrender to the first Ukrainian that offers them a warm meal.

There's actually possible history there!

In WW2 there was a Korean captured in France fighting for the Germans. The Germans captured him from the Russians. The Russians captured him from the Japanese.

I hope that Poland will station some tractors near the border. Tractors decorated with the feathered wings of the Winged Hussars.

Elon should focus on space, cars and tech... not trying to resolve an international war started by a murdering scumbag dictator. (his moral standards are questionably low thanks to the Depp trial and his recent semenal revelations.

I wonder if Musk realises how fortunate he is that he gets to live in a country where he can say stupid, embarrassing **** that values the contribution of fairly passive entrepreneurs versus Russia who'd probably have killed him by now? Perhaps he thinks he'd be in a position to contort that system to his benefit failing to realise that intellectualism of any sort (beyond how best to steal something from someone) is sacrilege, just doesn't seem like what a rational, intelligent person would conclude given even a cursory look into Russian society or any criminal enterprise.
