Unbelievable!!!!

I wonder how much they pay dhl for a pick up and return. As they have done it twice with you thats seriously eating into their profit margin. Surely they cannot be happy with that. Ok i know the profit in a 360 is likely low to loss but still it's gotta hurt.

when they picked up my first one the guy said he had picked up 70 in the last 2 weeks, this was back in December, when they was in limited quantity

i use IRC and in the chan we have a 80 odd % failure rate, with 2 of us on our 3rd

Yeah but how many of you are in that group? I stil wish their was an ocuk poll. Do I have to email a Mod?

70 in 2 weeks seems a lot but how many did they sell in the uk so far. Also you dont know how big an area he's covering.

I agree that the figure is higher than it should be, I dont believe for a minute its at the industry average but I doubt they will want the real figures leaked.

Theres absolutly no point as whatever the outcome is it will be disregarded by a large proportion of people (who haven't had any problems) as being an inaccurate guide to the failure rate.

Personally I can't see how a fairly busy forum with members from all over the UK can't be called a fair representation of the public but hey what do I know.

Some people are sticking ridgidly to the "the failure rate is well within industry guidlines" stance but I can't see how they can stic by that line when people are starting to be on box 2, 3 or even 4 in some rare cases.

Im not saying its a fair representation of whats gone on country or world wide, just seems a lot doesnt it?

I always thought these problems with console launches E.g. the PS2 were overblown, or broken due to lack of care, as i personally hadnt had a console die before, (except for a 5yo SFC), but with the 360 im upto 1 replacement a month so far.

PS : about 30 peeps in the chan, and the guy covers Wolves - dudley/halesowen area. Which is a fair size.

Yes I have to admit that i don't know anyone thats ever brought anything that they have had to return 3 times in the space of it's lifetime, let alone 2 months.

Put it this way I doubt anyone on here would buy a proccessor or gfx card for the 3rd time if it failed the previous 2. I know people who wont buy hotpoint electricals after having a couple of problems with items under warranty.

I guess its because right now there are no alternatives so we 'all' want xbox's. The others nintendo and sony only have themselves to blame. if they had their alternative out now they would cash in. Likely if you had an xbox and it died 3 times you would say **** this and buy the other one instead. Of course if it as near as dammit as good.

Or maybe thats just me.

Of course there were roughly 300,000 consoles in December in the UK, so for a 2.5% failure rate, 7500 consoles would have to fail in that month alone.

For comparisons sake, 14.93% of the posts in this thread have been made by dannyjo.

Another comparison: If I want to a church, and asked 'how many people here are christian?', I'm sure I would get a very high percentage. Christians have a tendency to congregate around churches. Same as people who have a problem with anything technical have a tendency to congregate around forums / IRC channels. Does that mean the % of ppl in the church that are christian, is the same as the % of ppl in the whole world that are christian?

The last time I was in Gamestation in wycombe they had lost the key to the demo booth so they can't get at it!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I believe the GAME in Redcar had it's Xbox360 booth in for 4 hours/days before someone keyes the LCD screen on it.

I've had mine since launch and had the 3 red lights about 4 times. But it still works, not sure if i should give M$ a call or not. Don't want it to die out of warranty:(

If you bought it in a shop then take it back when they've got stock in so they can just swap it straight over, different if you got it online though.
