Uncharted on the PS3

So what's the difference between normal and crushing then? Is it just the amount of enemies or do you also get less health etc?

Crushing gives you loads less health (one shotgun hit is instant death, 3/4 pistol hits is death, 1 headshot or 2 chest shots with a M4 is death), gives the enemies loads more health (aside from headshots, they're still insta-kills until you get the dudes with helmets, then its 2 shots like in hard). Both the hardest and most exploitable difference change in crushing is the AI, enemies rush you nearly all the time, if you run out of ammo, reload or become low on health at least one guy will run at you to try and take you down up close. While this often results in them getting you, sometimes they'll do stupid things in an effort to kill you like picking a moment to run when they're just too far away so by the time they're close you've reloaded your shotgun and they're in the open close up so can take them down easily. Easy -> Hard is all about using good tactics, Crushing is about exploiting theirs.

hi

does anyone know what the hidden trophys are and how to get them???

cheers

The hidden trophy below dyno-might is to achieve dyno-might 5 times. The large collection of hidden trophies towards the end are to get a certain number of kills with each weapon, 50 for the pistols, 30 for the rifles etc etc. The final 4 hidden trophies are to complete the game on each difficulty, however if you were to for example complete Normal you will also be given the Easy trophy at the same time.

Crushing is definitely a lot more challenging than hard, and aptly named too - I find myself in the situation of irrationally wanting to swear at the tv and throw my controller at the floor (like that will help ;)) every time I get killed on the plane section of chapter 4, must be about 15 times now :(. G'argh!!!! Snaa, er Draaaaakkkkkeeee!!!!!!!! :p

This is still my fav game for the PS3 so far, looking forward to the next one. I wish I had not traded it in after completing as I would like to go through it again.

You will be happy to know i would rate that bit as one of the top 5 hardest bits in the game in crushing. Took me several attempts to say the least.

You can pick it up for £15 preowned now so might be worth getting it again ;)

I would rate that as the hardest bit in the game, however i had gotten so used to crushing i actually did it on my second attempt. Its one of those situations where you KNOW this is bloomin difficult but because you've been through sections before that nearly as bad and learnt from them you actually get through it quickly if you see what i mean.

ho-hum, the difficulty kinda reminds me of playing games back in the days when you played games with 'QAOP' & the Spacebar - none of this 'WASD' / mouse combo ... (black & white / sepia flashback of the old years ... ;)) where I think games were harder because they were so short. It's great to have the challenge because I have to play more strategically but I can see the potential for tears coming up soon ;) Everywhere I hide, the guys find me and they keep coming, and coming!!! Argh!! :)

edit: oh, that was hard, managed to kill the first wave of pirates after I slid down the rope by lobbing a couple grenades at the first pirates and hiding behind the crate (opposite end) and blind firing a bit, the second wave (when they blow up the gate to make an exit) were a lot easier in comparison!!!!

i doubt il be doing crushing then :o for the sake of my wallet as i can afford another pad ;).

normal was frustrating enough lol, just gota run back through getting the last treasures .

Did no-one think the animation (when climbing up stuff etc) was very poor? Compared to tomb raider I thought the joins between each animation were very obvious.

Ruined the whole atmosphere for me.

Well, i know what you mean, but i would rather have drakes forgiving platforming mechanic with poor animations than tomb raiders pixel precise jump-miss-die mechanic. The reason why tomb raider has superior animations is because it works on a sort of grid, so when you do certain jumps you'll always land in a certain way so they prepare animations for each instance. In drakes they've made it so he'll dynamically grab onto stuff with little effort, animating for the 1000's of possible outcomes of each jump would just be plain impossible.

In short, yes it's not perfect, but they did a good job considering.

finished it on crushing was not as bad as i thought
some pretty frustrating moments but still never found all the treasure lol 14 to find not sure i can be bothered finding them now
great game cant wait for the next one
