Right, so those children have the GCSE thread, and the A Level one too...

SO! A thread for everything to do with Uni!

So how is everyone's experiences of Uni? Or are you just coming up to that point?

For me, I've had an incredible first year of partying, meeting new mates and generally just getting drunk. Oh and there was some work involved too :D

And just had a pretty evil exam with two more on the way! :(

And the floor opens for you guys ;)

Just revising for my first exam tomorrow, then one on the 19th, 20th, 24th and 27th.

I'm in second year, loved my first year too, did no work, scraped a 2:2 going out 3/4 times every week.

Hated second year because of female-related problems, feeling pretty **** at the moment, not worried about exams at all really as I know I'll get a 2:1 whatever, just other stuff getting me down.

Don't live with girls. Eurgh.

*sulks off*

I am nearing the end of my degree, I am a 5th year.
The workload is very high and it is not fun at the moment, but then I have had a few offers for work so putting up with the hard engineering degree was worth it.

Dissertation in this week.
Four lots of coursework next week (includes the dissertation Viva and poster).
A large project due in the next week.
Four exams the next week.

I'm a year in to my second degree (Psychology this time rather than Comp Sci) and I can tell you working full time whilst doing a degree at the Open University isn't for the faint hearted.

Still at least the fees aren't bad... :D

I'm just amongst doing my final exams after 4 years of being here. I've also just finished my dissertation, so maybe this is a bad time to ask me! It's been an enriching experience, and I do think I would have hugely missed the intellectual advancement if I'd gone straight to work after school, but now I need a break. Maybe I'll work for a bit and go back and do a PhD, maybe I'll go into a career more permanently, but I'm pretty burned out now. I never took a gap year either.

My advice to anyone who is thinking about doing a degree (at a decent university at least) is to make sure you're actually interested in the subject you want to study, and not that it's just what you think is the best choice. I'm glad I chose an interesting subject and I think I would have quit long ago if I had chosen something else that I wasn't interested in.

I'm in full time employment, cycling to work everyday, have a toddler, 5 month old twins, and a pain in the arse wife, and studying a maths degree with the OU. My current experiences of Uni are very blurred, as is this screen now.

Soon to finish for my BA degree with 1 last assignment already handed in my dissertation a while ago and got the mark back so I should get a 1st or 2:1 degree hopefully depending on my last assignment mark.

Just glad I did it in time with the tuition fees rising wish I started a year earlier though.

Got a presentation to be done for tomorrow, a portfolio due for Friday, test the following Tuesday and another assignment due for the Friday.

Then first year is complete :)

I'm doing a music degree, although half not enjoying it half liking it.

Its hard to know whether to give up when something costs such money!

What is everyone studying? I do maths, and it seems everyone else on my course is more introverted!

Sounds like everyone else is having a great time! :)

Oh and whoever posted saying they had girl troubles second year of Uni, I've had them majorly this year :(

Students in general are ****s and exams are not too difficult in general but there is just too much to remember which makes it ****ing hard.

Finishing 3rd year, first exam was fairly straightforward, the second a doddle and the third which will be on friday, is set to more than compensate in difficulty.

Well I can't comment on the first part but everyone I know has been a decent chap at Uni :)

And if you think the exams are easy, you should have done the calculus exam I had to today, made me understand how dying slowly feels :(

Finished last Wednesday 3 years of uni + a placement year! It was a great experience although my CS course was considerably more demanding than the majority of people I met during university which is a downer! I have loved it from start to end and would recommend it to anyone.

I would add though if you’re thinking about starting when it hits £9k a year make sure you’re doing a degree which will make uni a worthwhile experience (Engineering, technology, med, finance etc). It will take you a while to pay it off if you’re doing David Beckham studies ;)
