Literally you have the best 6700k ever JR, 8Pack special pick?
Assuming it's just under normal liquid... nice result though!
Well, funny story. I've had one for a while from 8 Pack it wasn't binned from thousands but yanno slow CPU's don't stay in his vicinity for long, as well as a very speedy single side B-die kit. I only ever ran them on air in Chocolate Box but it would pass any 3d stuff at 4.8 4000 every time.
Then I got another from retail stock which I was using when testing the 4 Titan XP's, so I had the Z170-WS testing cards and decided to see which 6700k was best. I got the new one to 4.9 which I was quite astounded with and tried to hit 5.0 but with upwards of 1.4v it couldn't pass physics so at that point I swapped to the old chip. The board immediately hit me with 55 and my heart sank at the realization i'd left the 5.0g 1.425V settings. Reset cmos still 55, memok still 55, removed 3 dimm's and it booted, put one back 55. The only way I could get it to boot was by not running dual channel memory so at this point I was pretty sad i'd crippled the original chip but in the process pleased with the new one.
Anyway this week I thought i'd better test it in my Z170 Stinger to confirm crippled but it worked perfectly. Tried my 4.8 4000 profile still great and then being under water took it to 4.9 and 5.0 with 4.7 cache and 4000C16 and did the run above. The new chip in the Stinger managed 4.9, 4.7, 3866C16. So pretty pleased they both live and still have no idea why the WS board is temperamental, it works perfectly with one set of parts. No witchcraft on the cooling front just the
EK S240. I've no idea if it could pass cinebench or the like at 5.0g, I only really like 3d
.
