Not a great run - this driver version doesn't seem as good as some of the others and I didn't bother with any tweaks to the nVidia settings:

zQNZlmg.png

1080p
4203 points
Xeon 1650 V2 @ 4.4GHz
3070FE @ 3500 on the VRAM (Not sure what the actual clock speed was - the benchmark doesn't seem to read it correctly - raised the power/temp limit and was boosting to around 2100MHz when I checked briefly)

Pretty sure I can get this to 180 FPS with a better driver and some tweaking (100% fan speed run probably boost it a bit heh) but it's a start.

EDIT: Might not be the driver - had some ******* Creative software running in the background that seems to reduce performance slightly and I keep forgetting to stop it starting with Windows on this install. I'll do another run when I can run 100% fans hah can't at the moment without risking waking someone.

Update from me - pushed the 3080 further now under water - old score 5085, now 5429. It's a reference design card, a bigger power limit would be lovely, but for 320w it's doing well.

I've looked in to it, but I can't find anyone who's done it yet - I don't want to be the first and brick the card!

Also, my 9600k is a pig - it doesn't like anything past 4.7 and gets super hot while doing so, so I can't really be bothered :p

For what its worth - i THINK my 3080 Trio is a reference design card? Mine has a 410W BIOS flashed on it... not had a peep of issue - I know its not apples to apples of course, but thought I'd mention it :)

Unfortunately the Gaming X Trio is not a reference design, but there are multiple other reference design cards so I'm hopeful a BIOS does appear with more wattage enabled :) Below is the list of reference design cards published by EK, mine is the PNY XLR8 308.

Why windowed? Does it make a difference in fps from full screen?
Did you turn Gsync off before running this?this is my score with Gsync off. Don’t know if this is poor or good at stock. Everything is at default including cpu(pbo auto). Only XMP and a custom fan curve for the gpu is set up. jVmBpv9.jpg

Windowed because I dont like monitoring with overlays. They (Riva tuner stats server) used to mess games up and cause instability
I don't think windowed mode matters but could be wrong. I'll try full screen stock to compare.

Gysync is off, otherwise max fps would be 100 (100Hz monitor)

That does seem high for stock settings on the 3080 but see the minimum 9.6fps, that's the GPU throttling back.
Maybe the 461.40 driver is messing something up. Minimum should be more like 40/50/60fps. If it drops to 9.6fps mid game, you're going to know about it

edit - Windowed must make a difference.

Hmm can you run one at 1440p with the following settings and post? Here is mine for reference, the min fps looks better. Maybe something is wrong with my cpu if it’s throttling at 1080p? 0lTJLYq.jpg

Sure, will do...
I would hazard a guess your CPU is fine, especially if its at stock PBO. More likely to be the 461.40 driver. That is of course unless your CPU temps are running super high during the 1080p test and it is throttling as you say

Your 1440p score looks spot on. Here's mine

Were your earlier scores at stock(gpu) with pbo for the 5800x?
Temps don’t cross 65-70 for the cpu. Not sure what’s wrong.

217FPS today was with stock CPU (PBO auto) and stock GPU

I'll do a stock re-run with HWiNFO64 montoring

Stock GPU, Stock CPU. Though CPU is running 1900IF, RAM at DDR3800, CAS14

Remove that terrible 461 driver with DDU and try 460.89
