Still seems low for 1680x1050?

At the clocks you have just run your card looks to be running ok

Here is another HD 7970 using the same clocks as you but running 1920 x 1080

Was wondering can artifacts damage the GPU even if the temps dont seem too high? Including VRM temps aswell

It always worries me when I see artifacts, as to if it causes damage I don't know the answer.

Worries me too.. this is why u will hardly see my core above 1200.. but my pointer finger is usually not far from the 'Esc' button lol

I wish. It is the vrm's that scare me and to go faster, I need to put more volts through and that won't be happening till it is at least 5c or below outside and the wife is at work

The vrms are what concern me as well. I'm not over the moon the way the HC blocks cool these little monsters either. Also, If I am getting the right location on the card, the memory vrms are left bare. I did a clean up the other day on my cooling and found that some of the HC memory thermal pads did not actually touch the ram chips.

Supposed to be an EK block out soon but the R9-290 is starting to interest me now.

I managed to crack on with the cpu and have it 4.8 stable but cant think why it did not help with the score very much if at all :confused:

Yup!

I've noticed no major gains from Clocking the Cpu in this benchmark. A few extra points here & there.
