It's not cheeky, Brundle was being a moron. If they do a time on a harder compound then going into the first run in Q3 they haven't used the softest compound for like 25-30 minutes. If they want the best Q3 they want more knowledge about track conditions on the softest compound so they go out, get a feel and slow down before the line. They were never out trying to trick the others to do a lap on the other tire, they were all out to feel out the track. Thing is this year with Ferrari competitive they've all done it for hte last half a season unless the harder compound is actually way too slow.
Also seemed to me that Vettel went all 4 tires off in T19 but didn't get his time deleted.
