maybe -10 is enough power for full performance?
Have a go see what the spot is

so am i right in thinking that your now limited to 6970 clocks with no room for an oc ?
idle 27c
load 58c~
Easy, i noticed you are running the older drivers( 8.79 or something, 10.11 catalyst) while i am on a newer set (8.801, 10.12a catalyst) which i think are the prefered drivers. Any chance you can install the newer drivers and see if you get even more of a boost?
which manufacturer is yours easy ? HIS ?
I remember flashing my old saph 9800pro to a XT , might buy one of these and try it
Try here you might be able to to edit the memory timings yourself.

Might be worth adding the link to the OP easy.
Nice guys! Looks like 6950 is actually worth 200 notes!
What's the oc been like easy, once it's been flashed?
That's the package I have downloaded as well.
Just a quick query - did you try the batch files contained within the download package?
Very very tempting, got the same card as Easy so it should be a sinch - will read the info in OP and build up to giving it a go!
The reference bios isn't a problem (although I assume any bios that you want to try needs to be renamed to "unlock.bin") as I would try that first and then try the Asus Bios.
The instructions are perfectly self explanatory both in the OP and the TPU article.
I was just curious about the batch file. I am assuming that I can just double click the "unlock.bat" file and it will perform the flash as if it's running a macro?
I don't want to try it at the moment as I am analysing the files on my Alienware M11x and it might have a hissy fit if I try to flash the 335m bios with a HD6970.... ( I know it won't work but I don't want to mess anything up on this laptop as I have got it just right....).
I'm just glad I made the right choice when getting a new card - extra performance for "relatively" little effort is a big christmas bonus
