**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

What are the dunlop sport blueresponse as a tyre? Get grt 2 for a good price fitted? Rating wise, they seem very good?

Ben
The 205/55/R16 Dunlop Sport BluResponse get good reviews on the following site http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Dunlop/Sport-BluResponse.htm

I was looking for the same size tyre and the Dunlop, Continental Premium Contact 5 and Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance all seem reasonable.

Looks like I have a long wait for the Continental Premium Contact 5 to arrive, so was thinking to get the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance (i believe they also own Dunlop) after reading the following 2013 summer tyre test

Just got the dunlops fitted at my house for £142 for them both. Seem like really good tyres so far, aint really tried them out though to be fair, but they do seem quite which is nice :) shall update with the performance of them in a few weeks time :)

Whichever is cheapest in your size. I have both currently on my car, and favor neither of them, both just as good across the board.

I was called into work last night so I decided to take the Evo for a bit of a laugh. I was initially unreserved about the F1A2's that I now have on the car. I used AD08s in the summer and shall be getting another set but I decided with all the wet weather the winter brings I'd go with the Goodyears. The roads last night were terrible and it was chucking it down. The roads I go to work on are pretty poorly lit and twisty b roads. Sounds like heaven after the commuter rush but they are very unforgiving and last night was pretty treacherous. I hit a few deep puddles and went over a lot of standing water, the tyres were phenomenal, they inspired confidence as well as great feedback and they took it all in their stride. Granted there's a complex 4WD system to control them but had I been on something like AD08s I'd have been going half the speed.

This is why I like them. No 4wd safety

Last night I drove back from heathrow in torrential rain and no worries

This is why I don't bother with winter tyres. A set of these and not driving on fresh snow is all I need in the South West.

It appears Goodyear don't do an as2 in my size!

Are NCT5 any good? It's been so long since I bought some tyres I've no idea which tyre would be best for me

NCT5 are pretty old I think, not exactly a high performance tyre when released anyway? More a mid range offering..?

If you can't get F1AS2 I'd look at whether you can get Continental Sport Contact 5s in the size you need, most reckon these to be nearly as good as an all rounder, and usually seem toughly level pegged on price to the Goodyears too.

I bought the car to try and save me money in the long run but primarily keep the miles off the Evo, the only money I'm spending on it is to keep it on the road.

But what if you go off the road because of inferior tyres? When the current set are shot just get some Wolfrace alloys of the bay, slap on some EAGLEs and set purple sectors all the way to work

It's got Conti's on it now, so hardly poor tyres. Just replaced two actually as they were low and it's got an MOT next week.

The runflats on my MINI Cooper S are just annoying me too much now, so I'm looking to change them to normal tyres. My commute is ~14 miles each way and can be a mix of motorway and A-roads, or A-roads and country B-roads.
F1AS2 and CSC5 are not available in 195/55/16, so the question is which is the best tyre in this size?
I'm tempted to try the new Uniroyal RainSport 3, unless anyone has any other suggestions?
