**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

You made it sound like if you had the PS2 over the PSS then you'd end up in a ditch because they're "inferior". I'm saying they are not inferior, they are not as good as the PSS and nobody can argue with that and you'd be mad to pay good money for PS2 over the PSS but the PS2 are certainly not "inferior".

Perhaps you're using the word inferior too strongly though...

If they're not as good, then by definition they are inferior. To say they are not inferior but they are not as good is completely contradictory :p

I'm still going to maintain that inferior is too harsh a word to use when they're just simply "not as good" :p - Context and all that.

Linglongs would be inferior.

Maybe my understanding of the word inferior is inferior?

Inferior debate is inferior.

But thats exactly what the word inferior means

inferior

adjective
1.
lower in rank, status, or quality.

It is simple fact that the PS2 is inferior to the PSS. Why would Michelin release an all new UHP tyre that WASNT an improvement on it's predecessor

225/35/18 87Y XL tyres are the OEM spec but difficult to find and expensive. 87W XL can be found in abundance at almost half the price. Since the car is limited to 155mph, would the W-rated (<168mph) tyres pose no risk?

Do the manufacturer breakdown services usually dictate that you must use OEM spec tyres?

Fox m8, it's just simply not as good but certainly not inferior.
SRSLY M9, I teach English for a living and Fox is right.

And it's not often I have anything positive to say about Fox's grasp of the English language.

(Sorry bud, but your spelling and punctuation is awful :p)

Can anyone explain the Goodyear EfficientGrip to me? It's designed to be fuel efficient yet on most sites it seems to perform really poorly! With black circles for example rating fuel efficiency at E.

Treading on thin ice, mjt
Stop yanking my chains!
I wasn't going to re-ply but now that you've inflated the situation, I'm getting really pumped up and I'm tired of the pressure put on me for tyre-based puns.

PS You ain't no stud and you leave me flat. I'm going to retire from this conversation and get rolling on with the rest of my good year. I don't have any spare time for this!

I think this got missed during all the bickering about one of the simplest words in the English language.

I'll try in this Tyre thread....though you all seem to be arguing over the definition of a word....btw, you're on a loser there mrk :p
