**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Decided to try my F1A2's again.

Pros:

SO MUCH GRIP! SO MUCH SMOOTHER!

Cons:

SO MUCH DRONY HORRIBLE NOISE!

Have you contacted Goodyear about this? I recently fitted some F1A2s to my Mondeo ST and I have seem to have the same problem. :(

Let's see how good Bridgestones customer service is. I complained about the RE002 and asked if I can get a refund. So far said they have forwarded it to the 'technical department'.

They are mid 2014 tyres. Two produced in Luxembourg, two in Germany. I think it's the German pair on the front that are the cause of the noise.

The droning vanishes when I put my other wheels with Excellence RFT's back on.

I would go the extra and get the Yoko, they are pretty much the perfect tyre for road and light track duties IMO. Nothing matches the feel, grip and longevity combination they give you.

Today I put some BS RE002 on the Silvia, doesn't feel anything like as good as the previous AD08, I regret making that saving.

Why would you think RE002 is comparable to AD08R? They're aimed at different segments of the market.

On a track how would the AD08R perform? I've never really found myself being let down my the grip on my RSR's but after 10mins they start to feel off as they get really hot.

If you like the RSR it may be worth considering the ns-2r, performance wise they seem similar yet I have found the ns-2r to have a stiffer sidewall and on track they don't go off as quickly.

I guess the ado8r may last longer due to having slightly more tread when new; but they typically seem to be slightly more expensive than the ns-2r.

I did look at the Nankang, a friend of mine has just changed over from RSR's to these in his Fiesta ST so I may wait until I get his feedback on how they compare, it just depends on whether my tyres last long enough :D

It just sucks that the new R888 won't be available in the correct size until much later in the year :(

What size are you using on the track? I reckon the r888r will be a fair bit more than any of the others mentioned though, as tyreleader has 195/50/15s at just over 90 quid a corner. Admittedly its a different beast to the likes of the rsr/ns-2r but they come in at nearly half the price in that size.

Doubt the r888r would last too long for you either if you intended on predominantly using them on the road with the occasional track visit.

Tyreleader still the cheapest for F1AS2's?

£75.29 for 225/40/18 incl delivery

Getting 4 new all round and alloy wheel refurb at the same time.

Looking to replace the PS3's on my E90 335i soon.

Been happy with them in the time I've had the car, so no issues buying again; just thought I'd see if people had any other suggestions before I pull the trigger?

225/40/18
255/35/18

Well it's that time - just thought I'd give this a gentle bump before I go ahead and order; any input on the below or other suggestions would be appreciated :)

Michelin PS3
Conti CSC5
F1AS2's (Little concerned about the droning mentioned by Fox and a few others with these?)

Turns out Bridgestone are of no help whatsoever when their product doesn't live up to its promises.
Ordered up some AD08 R to replace these horrible potenzas. Anyone want some 4 day old RE002's? :p

Michelin PSS fitted. Nice and quiet and the ride isn't bad at all.
I can feel every little bump but it's worth it- 16s looked ridiculous.

In hindsight 93Ys would've been fine, so I could've saved a few quid and just bought AO CS5s. Never mind. Hopefully these Michelins won't let me down :)

Looking for the same on 225/40/18. Have four F1AS2 on just now but I liked the PS3 on my old almera.

The tread movement/slip angle/sidewall flex/whatever you want to call it is absolutely off the charts. It feels like the front and rear axles are not connected and the steering wheel only has a vague influence on the steering angle of the car.
Perhaps it's just because of using different tyres front and rear, perhaps the tyres are junk (I have read quite a few similar stories about RE002 now), perhaps I'm being a queen about it. Either way, I don't have any confidence in the car with these tyres on and I can definitely fix it by going back to what I had before, so that's what I will do.
