**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

My MPSS are at 5mm with 12000 miles done so far, including a trackday so I'm hoping for at least 20k miles before they need changing. Although I wonder if I could wear a set right down to slick to use for trackdays :D

The F1A2's on my previous RS6 also did about 18000 miles including trackdays so on par with the MPSS I'd say.

AS2 seems somewhat of the underdog as everyone slobbers over the PSS :p

Both excellent tyres of course!

I had a pair of AS2's fitted at the weekend. Not had much rain to test them in the wet but they've been impressive in the dry so far. Just need to get two for the front now.

I've just had to replace 2 of my one year old F1AS2's
One had a slow puncture and one had what looked like a faulty valve.
Slow puncture one was investigated, couldn't be repaired. The other one - I hadn't noticed just how flat it was until I'd completed a drive on it. Totally damaged the sidewall - inside the tyre it was crumbling away.
So much tread left on the tyres, but had to go :(

Anyway, now got two new F1AS3's on the rear and my older F1AS2's on the front.
Obviously cannot make any comment on the AS3's yet, but the AS2's for the past year have been excellent.

I'm due a set of fronts soon so will put the rear as2 on there and fit as3 to the rear.

Means I never get the **** got grip of a brand new tyre upfront but stops me facing backwards.

When I went from driving the departed E39 the first night in the astra experienced going in too fast and luckily especially kept it all together.

Are ps4 in a similar vein to their predecessor I.e not quite an uhp tyre? (I'm not suggesting they're rubbish)

The new car has ps2/3 all round and fronts will probably want changing later this year.

From what I have read cross climate are a Summer tyre that will work well in the winter, I was just wondering if anyone had them on there car

Got them on my Mondeo, finding them excellent in the rain, no issues on the one day we did get snow here, buts wasn't enough to test them. Happy to run them all year though as they are a summer tyre.

This was my logic behind paying more for the PSS.

I can confirm this logic is sound. They are wearing very well on mine. In stark contrast to the Continental SC M3 tyres that were on the car when I bought and wore at an alarming rate!

Yeh, no idea why anyone would fit them these days. I think some people just love the thought of everything being completely original. I'd rather just have the extra grip and pay less at the same time.

Just replaced my front worn RS3's with some fresh RS3's, but they seem a bit flighty so hoping they just need a little worn in and aren't a dodgy batch!

MPSS on mine were down to 5/6/5 also after 12,000 miles including a track day and 4 laps of the Nurburgring. I'd say they wear extremely well!
