Love my F1A2s. So much grip and seem to be wearing alright too. 7 months, a trackday and almost exclusively A road driving in a 320bhp car with around 4mm on rears and 5-6mm left on fronts.

Hence their popularity! I have them on the front of my Octy vRS, but need some on the rear now and not sure what other credible website to use, that isn't Camskill or Blackcircles

I just fitted some Continental CS5s on my 1 Series - great handling and grip, even in the wet. Too early too give advice on tyre wear though, I've only done 100 miles on them

Looking at my next potential car purchase I thought I'd see how much tyres were.

More than I was expecting!

205/45/17 = £112.40

Is it possible to fit a more popular cheaper size tyre such as:

215/45/17 = £98.20

Yes but you will affect the speedo which seems entirely pointless for a saving of just 12 quid a tyre!

Also it's £14.20 saving per tyre which is £56.80 for a set!

So if I were doing 100mph it would only read 1.64% lower? Which is 98mph!
That wouldn't even bother me, and I'd rather have the £ in my pocket!

At an average speed of 40 it would read at 39...

So a .4 increase at 30 and a .9 increase at 60 (according to that site)...

Again, not bothered and would prefer the ££

Presumably though the manufacturer has chosen that tyre size for a reason. You are increasing the size of the sidewall, after all.
