Check the width.
when I went from 205/50r17 to 225/40r18 I saw a 6mpg loss on average.
Is it worth it?

Need a new set for my TTRS soon, currently got Continental Sport Contact 5 fitted. What else would people recommend?
255/35/R19 XL
CSC6 are better than the Super Sport in all UK road scenarios pretty much and are cheaper + newer. It makes no sense getting a soon to be EOL tyre over a newer, better and cheaper tyre.
Odd they didn't show up when I looked on Blackcircles for that sizeCheers - its a 2012 3.0 TDI A5 - mostly motorway commute / work related runs (400 miles a week or so average), dads taxi and some back-road shenanigans
Booked in for an MOT on Saturday so will see what they suggest and take a look at the CSC5s
Cheers
EDIT : Its booked in Kwick Fit and they are showing £118.99 fitted for the CSC5s will see how many I need, but suspecting 4 :/
It's somewhat worrying that there are people out there who wait for an MOT to tell them if their tyres are still OK or not.
It's not as if it's difficult to look at your tyres![]()
My Octavia has Bridgestone Potenza's S003 from the factory and they are truly horrid in the wet/Damp really slippy and I have a serious lack of confidence in the wet even with my sedate driving.
Any recommendations for something in a 225/45/18 that gives a better all round grip without costing the earth....
Cheers
Rainsport 3.
