urgent help on 1st build!

hmm...just had a thought.

when I ordered my rig, I ordered a TRUE and a scythe fan for it, which didn't come today because they were out of stock.

the invoice said that the scythe fan would be sent to follow, but no mention of the TRUE.

also, I bought it for £45, but today it's only £30 lol, will need to sort this out after my rig is fixed up.

how long would it be then for the TRUE to come back into stock...if it's ages, I could always cancel it and get a proliminatech megahalem or a noctua

lol, thanks mate, I probably will end up doing that, but only after I get my rig sorted, running smoothly, and taken about a billion pictures of it from every angle lol.

Tomorrow what should I do, seeing as OcUK aren't open? carry on playing around with it? or just leave it and chill doing something else lol.

nice! have fun with that then, and thanks for the awesome help throughout today, thank you mattus as well when you read this, and everyone else that posted =)

i'm now off to bed, so g'night all!

morning gents, I was just checking out the thread where a guy was advised to steer clear of the gigabte ud3r board, he opted to swap to the Asus P6T SE which is exactly the same price as my current motherboard.

Would it be worth it to RMA the motherboard for the Asus, or RMA the RAM and hope that the new set is compatible?

the problem is, i don't think any part is fault as such, just the ram/mobo are incompatible.

I paid around £1000 for it total, and OcUK have great customer service, so when I give them a ring on monday, i'll explain to them, and i'm sure they'll offer an exchange of some kind.

would be great if a don or something could give a word on this?

fair enough, tomorrow i'll ring up OcUK and see what they think, RMA the RAM, and go and buy a speaker from somewhere lol. what should I ask to exchange it for? The Kingston seems fine atm...any ideas?

just noticed that the RAM section has an incorrect price on their banner...shows it at £70, but actual price is £77.

obviously if they want to lower the price thats fine too, I for one wont be complaining lol =)

Was thinking of the time frame needed to sort the RMA...If I send off my RAM tomorrow, will probably arrive on wednesday. Would they send the new RAM when they get my current set? or would it be a while longer?

well, the RAM itself is in the same condition, the packaging isn't. I've still got it, but it's a bit bent out of shape.

the Mobo, i've still got the box, perfectly intact and all, and the antistatic bag + manuals, infact I think everything for the mobo.

how can I order a replacement today? thought OcUK are closed on Sundays?

Took a look at the RAM Packaging, and with a bit of pushing and a small bit of sellotape, it should look good as new lol.

I'd really like to avoid the long process and get it over with, so that I can try the new RAM and hopefully get everything working, but if it's not the RAM then I can immediately request a motherboard or whatever, depending on what you guys think.

that would be kind of a risk though...wouldn't it? If I buy a new set, but when I give them a ring they don't refund the cost or send it anyway. I'll make a thread in the RMA section and see what they say.

and exchange would be painfully slow, but i'm hoping they can send me a new set of RAM free of charge, or +- the difference in cost, and i'll send them back my current RAM.

oh dear =(

then again it's probably a good idea, incase anyone needs to post account information or whatever.

fair enough, P&P shouldn't be too much though (hopefully.)

i'll keep you posted with the customer service thread.
