urgent help on 1st build!

looks great mate! hope you had fun with it lol, but yeah, tomorrow should be enlightening at the very least =)

the main thing im hoping for now is to get the part RMA/Exchange saga out of the way, and quickly. I much prefer having things and working with them, then sending stuff around or waiting a few days for parts lol.

again on the plus side (optimism for the win!) i'll also be getting my Proliminatech Megahalem and Scythe fan when the new RAM arrives, since i'll be cancelling the TRUE tomorrow when I call.

unfortunately mate my motherboard doesn't actually have a speaker =(

I'm pinning it on incompatible RAM because another person in the link a couple of pages ago has nearly exactly the same spec as me, and when he changed the ram, his problem was solved.

ok, OcUK opens in 5 minutes, but i'll call up in 15-20 minutes time lol, would be rude to pester the poor blokes as soon as they get into work.

right, gave them a ring, and they don't offer an exchange for incompatibilites, but they do take RMA's, which is ok. I'll send him my RAM back, get a refund, and order the new set.

When I asked about the TRUE and Fan the line cut, so i'll call back in a few hours.

OcUK are officially legends, swapped the TRUE and fan for a Proliminatech and a Noctua fan, and got the kingston RAM because he confirmed it should work with my motherboard, automatically charged the same card and all, and it will arrive tomorrow morning.

outstanding customer service.

definately, overclocking was something I researched quite a bit last year, not much seems to have changed so it should be fine.

When everything is set up (hoping it all works fine) I'll install Windows 7 build 7127, and get a few programs up and running.

I'll start with a small overclock, probably to around 3.2 ghz, then benchmark. If I feel confident after that, i'll raise it up a little higher.

thanks mate =) done plenty of googling and (as long as i'm not totally mistaken) the RAM should work fine! I'm going to walk down to the post office and get a box to send my current RAM back.

post office is closed for some reason -.- and I had to run home in the pouring rain...to find that all the clothes outside got soaked. lol.

thanks Phoenix. We spent most of last night researching my other pc's, but no luck on the western front i'm afraid. Besides, everything has been ordered and all, so all I need to do is let tomorrow come, and we'll see.

aah, brilliant, thanks again mate =)

I've heard many many good reviews about the noctua fans, only thing I can see wrong with them is the colours lol.

luckily on my 902 case i've got the fan controller thing at the back, so I can set them down to low speeds, and during games I use a headset, so when I increase fan speed it wont really bother me. (Might not be able to say the same about the rest of the family though!)

Aren't we all Mattus =)

If it doesn't it doesn't, but hopefully luck will smile upon my project and all will go well.

according to the consigment number, it's on the van using saturn, since 8:31 AM.

should be here soon =)

P.S: What's saturn lol

Are you guys getting this horrible rain storm? I think it's slowed down the delivery guys lol.

Another downside is I'll have to wait to go to the post office.

Will keep you posted.
