US election 2012

Am I delusional or does Obama really not like UK and the Tory party here at all?

You're delusional. Don't mistake Obama for a leftist. He's arguably more right wing than David Cameron.

In this sense presumably Romney would be much better for us.

No. Romney is so far to the right he makes the Tories look like a bunch of middle aged corduroy-wearing Lib Dems at a Yakult convention.

Well, Romney is likely to be confrontational and will need an ally in Europe. Obama is an apologist and distances himself from unions and instead cosies up to everyone.

I dont know much about the policies, but to me Obama is a sleezy liar who bluffed his way to power in the first place (Romney could be a catastrophe) but the lies spun by Obama in the first place were horrific.

He promised wholesale change in a bankrupt country... how did anyone believe that?!

^^ 100% pure gibberish.

Get it while it's hot, folks!

Lies?

You mean promises that he didn't fulfil?

But do you know every act he tries to pass which has been voted down by the Republicans controlled Senate?

I dont regard Obama as having issues with the UK and the Tory party because of politics, I get the impression he does not want the relationship he inheritted with the UK and has tried to reduce it.

I dont care what Romney does in the US to society as regards rights and improvement to life style- I care about how he affects the world economy and wars. If Romney has a better economic plan and wants a stronger relationship with the UK why is this bad?

Yes I mean promises- most importantly "change". As i previously said, how do you implement any change without cash?

I know that all of his plans were voted down; the plans were watered down versions in the first place and the full fat plan was unaffordable anyway! Either way what was promised was not delivered. I cannot stand the man.

A few pages back there was a video of moron Romeny supporters and not one of them could identify any changes Obama had implemented!

I said it twice already.

Republican controlled Senate, Democrats controlled House of Representative.

Romney will have the exact same problem, from day 1.

If you dislike them both and had to pick one, pick the lesser of the two evils.

Surely that can't be the one who said we couldn't run the Olympics properly, whilst on a visit in London.

Because they were low information voters / IDIOTS!
Obama has done loads of the stuff he promised which was hard work considering the scummy republicans blocked him at every chance they had.

I would list them but I cannot be assed, you obviously are not that interested otherwise you wouldn't make such ignorant posts!!

The BBC programme has turned into a political debate. Sky News is a lot better for actual results. A shame about the ads.

If you are deciding which option is best on the basis of what he said about a sporting event in a different country I'm glad that you aren't voting!

Though, I do imagine you had your tongue planted in your cheek when you hit submit... I hope :o!

Yes there is catch 22; my point remains that it is a horrific lie to be voted in on a promise of wholesale change when you have no cash and a political blockade in front of you.

My issue is with Obama's oratory and promise of improvement when it is obvious that what is promised cannot materialise. Obama was elected on his oratory and mobilistion of disenfranchised voters. It really irritates me that this substanceless performance got him elected.

Quite funny watching Jeremy Vine getting flummoxed with his silly unemployment graphic. The BBC do love bizarre graphics and attempting to make some point.

Lol, Duhhhhh ! :p

I can't be arsed to list all the contradictions Romney has come out with, the lack of specifics "I am going to create 5 million new jobs"....How do you do that Mitt, please tell us...

To be honest, any democrats would have won the last election, the US as a whole got sick of bush/Republicans due to the economics collapsed.

Part of me want Romney to win because I have a feeling Hilary Clinton will run in 4 years' time and with his stance on women and the "Binders full of women" line...it would be funny to watch.

Florida is looking interesting... With 3 million votes in, Obama is leading by 52.0% to 47.3%.

There's a long way to go yet, but Florida is a state that Romney *must* win to have any chance at the electoral college. All of his "paths to victory" assume a Florida win. It's been leaning slightly towards Romney for weeks, and if he can't take Florida there isn't much hope of taking the other swing states that were showing 2-4% leads for Obama.

If Florida is called for Obama, I'm going to bed. :D

Would love Hilary Clinton in; she has presence, dignity and composure.

It's tightening up a little (ooh-err) - 50.8 vs 48.5 now.

But I agree with you - if Florida goes Obama, you might as well go to bed :p
