VAC banned again for no reason, COD Advanced Warfare.

Here's a good way to not get Vac banned ever; don't download cheats and don't modify your game files to give you an advantage over someone else. Tricky stuff I know.

After Ghosts FOV, I started a new Steam Account, do not use anything while running Steam not even MSI Afterburner.

I know you think it's funny to write cheater cheated or whatever, but yeah I didn't and got banned for no reason on the new account. Is annoying when you've spent £100's of pounds on Steam to have an infraction against your account. Not be able to play a game you're paid for.

To the few helpful posts, I'll keep trying to get to speak to someone.

To the rest of you, meh. :D

Sorry buddy, but I'm having a hard time believing you got VAC banned for no good reason.

But in the spirit of helpfulness there are lots of info on Reddit you could read. Maybe there is some help over there.

Used to be able to. Its only VAC servers they are banned from, at least, when I used to play mountains of games it was.

And as for £100s of pounds etc, it only bans the one game (again, last time I checked) and doesn't mean you were cheating at the time, it could be historical and something you ran once a few months ago.
 
Only played FPS's on Origin but do they give you a reason for being banned? Is there an appeals process? Or is it a simple case of our word is law, tough.
 
I don't exactly disagree with restrictions (it shouldn't be a perma ban just kick until you disable it) for FOV and FPS via 3rd party hooks but... developers trying to impose one size fits all settings is just lame and retarded especially arbitrary framerate limits - if people are so bothered about others having an advantage through some minor video configuration settings they always have the option there to level the playing field and set things up how best works for them not to mention without a good range of settings available it impacts massively on the accessibility/playability of a game for people with disabilities for no good reason.

No it's really weird mate, no info or reason for the ban. If you contact Steam you get an auto response saying VAC ban are permanent, you can't seem to speak to anyone real. Customer support is non existent. I will keep trying though.


To the guy saying he has a hard time believing that I didn't cheat, that speaks more about your own personality than mine. I've found that people that think like that are the ones that aren't trustworthy. I've never cheated on my Steam account, it's just a fact. Obviously I was going to get people on here flaming or cheaters that think everyone cheats, but I haven't This is bs lol.

I'll keep trying, will update if I ever get a response from Steam :D
 
I said I had a hard time believing you got banned for no good reason. Does not mean you were cheating in the classical sense (ie bot wall back). But for the record if you have to use a hook or inject or modify the game in any way I see that has hacking - even if all it does is allow you to modify FOV. What stops a person using the same tool to install a bot?

If you did get banned for no good reason, you can get it removed. You just have to grind along with Steam support. Like I said, check Reddit.

Not having a go mate, but didnt you say that you were previously banned for an FOV exploit on Ghosts?

If thats the case then as an other user mentioned its possible that the previous ban has now passed onto the new linked account.

Also as others have said if a developer does not include a ability to adjust FOV then just boycott the game, downloading any kind of 3rd party addon to adjust game files is only asking for trouble and looks like in this case you found it.

Herein lies the problem of never actually owning any of your games that you get on steam :)
 
Never ever mod online games, even a fov changer gives you an advantage if others do not have the option to do the same using ingame settings.

Seems a bit inconsistent in what they ban people for, ive seen cheaters in so many servers over the years, coming back to the same servers over and over, yet my friend got banned and he has no clue why, we were just practicing on an aim map not even in a match.
 
To be fair the built in FOV changer in AW isn't that bad. Certainly enough for me and I run 21:9. Anything that modifies the game beyond what it should do is a hack/cheat/exploit, so it's not a surprise that you got VAC banned for it.

Unfortunately they're still here! Just infested all the other online shooters. I'd pay treble the price of an online fps if the developers could guarantee no hackers but sadly wont happen :p
 
Only time I've ever been banned on a game was playing diablo 2 with map hacks. I mean, pretty much all of us used them, but you know the risks...
