Valve Index 2 (codenamed Deckard) Standalone

To be honest those controllers shown in the patent are looking a bit old-fashioned compared to the Meta Pro controllers. Here's hoping deckard has self-tracking controllers too.

Valve seem to be pretty good at keeping things under wraps - steam deck was a bit of a suprise iirc

Not really, there was working models of a Valve handheld from early 2021 and rumours long before that. And Valve themselves announced the Steam Deck over 6 months before they actually released it!!

I stand corrected - guess it is some way off then which is a shame as i have an index and was hoping to upgrade soon

We are all only guessing really!! They could release something next month for all we really know.

I just hope the SteamDeck hasn't pushed all the VR stuff to the back of the Queue.

my prediction/guess is they are waiting on the right micro-oled panels being available and some version update to the Steam deck, whilst Bigscreen Beyond has gone for what is available now

disappointed that we didn't see anything from Valve when the meta connect was on last week
i was at least expecting "something" lol

They don't have anything. If Valve had anything close to release we would have been seeing prototype leaks and demos for the last 6 months or more. Valve have never been very good at keeping hardware info from leaking out. Look at the SteamDeck, Knuckle Controllers, Valve Index, The HTC Vive. We knew about all these things a year or more before release. I mean we had actual hardware pictures and videos.

If I was you, I would stop expecting to see anything from Valve in the near future. If, and this is a big if, they are going to release another headset, it's at least a year away.

The problem is, all my friends have meta headsets , so what's the point of me changing to another ? I did that with the pico 4 and it was much harder to organise a game together

@Unseul and @Ravenger and co. will tell you

Was nice to get back to the same software and the fact they have a lot more games than others, they have the upper hand in the vr world
