Vapochill Lightspeed

Well i think i'll sell my FX55 & buy a cheaper CPU like an X2 3800 and clock it what would you expect to get out of that chip under vapo?

Thanks again for all your help people :)

Just two more quick question to you phase owners, say i run 6 hours a day...when i switch the unit off condensation will appear due to the change in temp's will the Vapochill's heat pads stay on to get rid of this before shutting off?
Is it worth buying some off that liquid tape to coat around the socket?

Thanks again & sorry for a total phase NOOB :p

Don't use a phase unit without taking every precaution possible against condensation. Silicon gel and neoprene foam padding doesn't cost much, especially when compared to the phase unit, so there's no excuse ;)

I am very, very impressed by that!

Although at 1.44v you could do that on air!

Whats the stepping of the chip?

AH but with phase you need lower volts to do the same stable clock as on air, ive seen some people with the same stepping as me needing 1.6v to get 2.9ghz stable on air/water. The stepping is LDBHE 0601UPMW.

When i first got the chip i thought i couldnt be bothered seeing what it would do on stock volts so i thought 'what would i be happy if it did and at what volts' so i decided on 3ghz both cores at 1.55v. So i set it to that and left it to dual prime over night, expecting to wake up in the morning to find it stopped but NO! it was still going. So knocked down the volts until i started to get instability so now im using 1.44v :D

Thankyou very much guys for your rapid answers.

Now time to get rid of my FX55 & buy a cheap X2 3800 :D

You should definately try that FX55 under the vapo :D If you dont send it my way and ill let you know how it clocks :D

It will do 2.9Ghz under air with stock volts 1.34v(primed for 24 hours) never taken it any further to be honest.Just don't fancy putting it under phase prefer to buy a cheaper cpu. :)

im confused now too, i thought the vapo pack was all you needed, doesnt the clip hold the condensation in? I was thinking of buying one too, but hearing that puts me off big style ;-p /scardeycat on! What is the deal with having to use a sealant or foam?

ah my sig ;) thats at 1.44v 100% stable, had a suicide shot at 3.55ghz :D

Dont get me wrong, im not against you but ive got the same chip under standard water @ 2.91Ghz 100% stable.

Is the price tag really worth £400 - £500? for a measly 90mhz.

The reason i said sont get me wrong becasue im thinking about getting one maybe early next year. Is that the sort of increase i will be looking at!? :(

havent really pushed it further in terms of keeping it stable. Im running at 1.44v for 3ghz whereas i see you are looking at 1.6v in bios for 2.91ghz. So i do have more voltage headroom to play with, havent got a great deal of time atm but later on in the summer ill see how much further i can get :)
