so lemme get this right, all i need is the vapo system kit from ocuk? Should i buy antistatic foam to line the edges of the cpu socket aswell?

regards,

TD

Everything you need will be with the Vapo.
Bit silly to sell something that could ruin your computer without the protection needed.

aye, guess your right tom, but i was a bit worried when previously it was said that foam was required to stop condensation from affecting the surrounding components, guess i mis interpreted that ;D I also see in the pics that people using watercooling aswell? (presuming by the tubing and the blocks present) would it be a fine idea to use the vapochill for just the cpu and leave air on everything else? ie gfx card?

yea, you do need the foam and grease, but it all comes as part of the kit :)

Yea, air is fine , but if you are gonna get a vapo why not go the whole hog and watercool too ;).

Tom

hmm i was thinking of going to watercool , but vapo looks a lot nicer, would they be ok with an Opty 165? , im changing the mobo as at mo it runs @ 2.5, (Asus sli premium)but on a dfi it was running @ 2.8 prime stable.

so is it ok with an opty and the dfi?

tbh , the thought of building a watercool system kinda scares me, electric and water.... hehe :) , this opty gets hot tho and i need somthin super, my xp-120 keeps it cool but not great, may be the crap thermal paste i used, need to get some arctic, 36degrees idle is hot

ill be using the vapo on a winny 3200 most likely for now and see what the deal with the new cpu/mobo's are next month. Will be buyiung a pc60 lianli for it too imo =p

When a chip is coldbugged, is it not possible to limit the temp so that it runs at say +10degree c rather than -40?

you can by putting copper plates between the cpu and the evap head. this lowers it a bit.
